The spar across the road wont be too happy with another retail outlet so near them. But true they are finally doing something about that site at last

The problem with that site has always been that it is on the wrong side of the road , people rarely stop going into town but they do stop coming back out . Given how busy the traffic is at that junction no one will fancy crossing over the road to stop/shop there .

The old Dan Ryan(?) site would have been a much better location

Glad to see a petrol station back there. None on the road between Corbally and The Regional at the mo!

Could detour to The Dock/Roxboro Rd if needed I know but they're a bit out of the way.

I'm sure NAMA would welcome any interest....but you would have to buy the entire site, including the rear lower part.
I'd say the old 'Jack Moore's' (Texaco) site was a good bit cheaper than the Dan Ryans's (Esso) site.

That doesn't really matter now does it?

If they just levelled the whole island and re-built it, improving access and put the petrol station and retail units in the middle, might be an improvement.

Inver hasn't got full planning permission for their development yet so technically no work should be taking place on the site.

The site across the road was controlled by Robert Butler and a large retail/office development was planned but the crash put a halt to that!

In related news, the Topaz on Tipperary Road has recently got permission to knock and rebuild.

It does if you own that Costcutters.....or if you're giving directions to someone. But feel free to backseat mod. Doesn't bother me.

It's next door to it. It's at the regional.
