Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Chelsea, without Matic will likely to see Ramires & Cesc at CM although its possible but unlikely, that Ake, Loftus-Cheek or Cahill could play in CM.

Spurs have no injury worries ahead of the game but have had an away game in Florence on Thursday night to deal with in the build up.

    Some facts :
Spurs recently ended a 10-match winless run against Chelsea in all competitions (D5, L5)

Spurs’ last piece of silverware came in this competition in 2008, beating Chelsea 2-1 after extra-time

Younes Kaboul is the only player involved in the 2008 triumph who is still at the club

Chelsea and Spurs have both won the League Cup four times

All three of Mourinho’s domestic final appearances as Chelsea boss have ended in triumph, having won the League Cup in 2005 and 2007 and the FA Cup in 2007

Petr Cech, John Terry and Didier Drogba played in both the 2005 and 2007 League Cup finals under Mourinho

Going for a Chelsea victory, 2-1

3-1 to Chelsea. Kane to score early doors for Spurs, only to rouse the slumbering behemoth that is Chelsea FC. And lo, their vengeance shall be mighty.

Hopefully Spurs can win this one. Jose is on the verge of cracking up and hopefully a dodgy penalty might push him over the edge.

I think he is close. Lot of pressure on him. He came third in a two horse race last year and its all or bust in the next few weeks. By the way Rafa was cool and calculated and spoke the truth and the team had a higher points per game after his interview than before it.

My heart thinks 2-1 spurs with chadli and Kane scoring.

The problem is my brain knows our entire back 4 is prone to catastrophe individual errors leading to goals and no way will do they go a full game without gifting a truck load of easy chanced to Chelsea's on form forward line.

Who to support in this final.....Spurs, a proud club with a long history who endeavour to play attractive football and have an exciting team and a young manager building his reputation, or Chelsea, whose fortunes turned with the addition of a dodgy Russians massive financial input, who have a despicable captain and a controversial wind up merchant for a manager, and undeniable racist element in their fanbase.
    Spurs, or Chelsea?
    Spurs..

    ...or Chelsea?

    Only one choice there really.

    Come on you Blues!

Spurs to score an early goal ( although a bit offside) and park the bus to win 1-0.
    Mourniho to complain - quality.

Yikes. I see this as 5-1 chelsea. Spurs are in a bit of a dip at the moment and chelsea will be looking for revenge.

    Chelsea are

    Courtois
    Ivan zouma jt azp
    Cahill cesc
    Ramires willian hazard
    Costa

Are Chelsea fans happy with that line up? Conservative obviously but looks risky enough trying Cahill centre mid in such a big game.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,262 ✭✭✭✭GavRedKing

Some of us suggested it recently so not surprised really. Id say itll be a 433 with cahill as the anchor and cesc and ramires either side and william and hazard on the wings

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53,262 ✭✭✭✭GavRedKing

Oh and i wouldnt mind if cech was cm if we win.

Happy enough. Its been shown this season that Ramires or Mikel can't do the job Matic does, We need that stabillity, leaving Cahill there will hopefully allow Cesc to cause havoc in the Spurs defence.

    Cahill with the first goal!

What the hell is wrong with Costa? Perfectly fine tackle by Dier there.

Little nibble after. I'm sure Dier has been told to try wind Costa up.

Did he? Never noticed it. Bit ironic, Costa taking exception to someone having "a little nibble" at him!

Christ!!! Eriksen is lethal at free kicks. So close...
