    Friday off

    Saturday
    Plan 2x1 mile
    https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/719048456

Actual was 1x1 mile and then 1x 500m. Started retching and then puked up some bile. Don't think it was down to effort but more the fact I hadn't eaten.
The effort I went with today was 180 AHR 90% as a 5k average is about 190.
In the 1 mile fast I did complete, I was pretty surprised to see 6'54 as I felt I was running about 7'20.

I'll get it right next time.

    Sunday
    Long run (nearly 60 mins)
    https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/720126166

Really enjoyed it, had the roads mostly to myself. Started to lag on the last 15.
Good week though with 6 runs.

    Tuesday
    4x400m + 2x200m
    https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/721902202

Went well, Got up a bit earlier than I needed to and had a bit of brekky.
    1500m warm up, drills, strides.
Ran the first one too quick, went through 200m in 40 and tried to slow it down.
The recovery was 75 seconds for each.

    1st - 84.7
    2nd - 90
    3rd - 90.5
    4th - 90.5

I thought I'd pay for doing the first one 10 seconds quicker than planned but I managed to just about stay in control of the rest of the session.
The 4s were followed by 200s off 2 minute recovery. I messed up the recovery, I didn't think it would take me so long to walk back to my preferred 200 mark.

    1st - 40.6
    2nd - 41.5

Cool down was 1500m, now the kids turn.

    Wednesday
    Off

    Thursday
    https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/723901693
    Tempo
    https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/723902351

Was supposed to be golfing, headed out to Castleknock, waited an hour past our tee time, no sign of the fog lifting so headed home.
I had planned to do my tempo session on Friday but we're hoping to golf Friday instead now so I decided I'd get it done while training with the kids.
I did a 2 mile warm up up on the treadmill before heading to the club.

I had about 15 U14s and brought them over to the field, I ran in the opposite direction to them as there's a few that would have lapped me and can't have that, wouldn't be good for coach/athlete dynamic :)
After a warm up and drills they did the same workout as me followed by 4x50m relaxed and a short cool down.
It was on grass and I was talking to the kids as they passed me so not ideal and I slowed down a lot on the 2nd mile. I hate running on grass and couldn't really shake my negativity. Happy enough though, feel I'm getting stronger and will look forward to doing this session again, not on grass.

    Friday
Was given the option of the day off after golfing so I took it, I was beat and it didn't make sense to carry that into the weekend

    Saturday
40 mins with strides at 10k pace at the end
    https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/724971921

Legs still felt dead from yesterday and couldn't get the heart rate down but feel good now like I could go again.
My new pegasus came as I've gone off the faas, they were hurting my calves a little.

    Sunday
    65 minute long run
    https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/725843067

Really enjoyed this run, was regretting the route I chose early on but once I got going was grand. Sun shining, lambs everywhere, cherry blossoms flowering and Fionnuala Britton said hello to me as she whizzed by.

Legs tired at the end but I reckon that was all the hills I took in.

    Monday
    Cadence Run
    https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/729474216

I was really enjoying this run and the plan was 5 miles. After 3 there was a knock on the door (kids returning from guitar), so I jumped off treadmill and left it running. BANG, the 5 yr old tried to go on it, I felt so guilty, she grazed her knees and chin.
I tried jumping back on a few minutes later but I knew she was still crying, so I called it. I'm an idiot.

    Thursday
    Cadence Run
    https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/729474903

Celebrated my first funds from the new business, knew I should have got a run in first but didn't, so got up early, again run felt great but I berated myself a bit for taking Wednesday off.

    Thursday
    3x600m
    https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/729594791

I was up for the session but it didn't quite happen, ran 2k up to the park and then just went straight into it, strong breeze in my face and I could see I was too slow at halfway (target was 1'09/2'18), eneded up with 2'22.
Recovery was 90 seconds jogging. Started no.2 and this felt faster. I didn't look at the watch this time but when I was finished it read 2'25. Very disappointing.
I was tired now and opted to walk the 90 seconds.
Determined, I set off too fast and gave up after 300m 1'07, which was supposed to be the pace for the last one 2'14.
    Jogged 2k home

Excuses - windy, tired but also mentally weak. I shouldn't have quit so easy on the last one.

Don't get into the habit of dropping out of sessions. Even if you died on that last 300m of the final rep you'd have benefitted so much more than by stopping.

Also 3 seconds slower in your second rep is hardly a disaster. I would have thought those to be fairly consistent reps.

Oddly, I just spotted this log today. It was like fate! Didn't realise I was that close to where DSD train...I'll have to hit you up for advice on a decent place to do reps!

There's actually a nice little coffee/hot coco shop in marlay, right beside a super 1k oval loop and come April the park will be opened till 8.
    Good seeing you.
