As it says in the title really. I'll be on foot and just wondered how to get there from the city centre. Thanks in advance.:)

No, I'm not local and when I'm in Galway I usually stick to the city centre.

Ok so, you are on Shop Street, heading down the street from Eyre Square towards Eason. The first right turn on the street is at the corner of the Apple shop and the AIB bank. Go down there, straight on, pass Sallylongs pub, it will be in your left. Just past Sally's is the Tattoo/piercing shop. That area is Newtownsmith. There is Born, a school, Tattooist etc. it is just before the turn left towards the cathedral.

Thanks, thats great, it's always easier to find a place by shops than by streets:)

I ought to point out that I have shocking directional skills, if you end up in Belfast City I apologise!

It's the general area between medieval city and Woodquay.

Oh - and it's a whole street, not just one place.

No idea why it's just called Newtownsmith and not Newtownsmith St.

Well because it was developed by the Governors of the Erasmus Smith Estate, it's more then just one street, it's whole area around it, thence it been a "New Town"

Thank you all for the directions. I found it this morning and with the weather being so bitterly cold I was glad to be able to find it straight away. :)
