Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Went back to Infamous Second Son last night. I need to stop leaving big gaps between playing a game. Took a while to relearn all the controls. Only about halfway through the Good karma campaign. So still need to play the Evil karma campaign and the First Light DLC

Got into the last few betas no problem, didn't get picked this time around, hopefully they are releasing in waves and more will go out later today...

Sounds great but have they fixed the broken mess that is yet? Having to restart to use the store is nonsense after all this time, and don't even dare to try and download anything if you've just deleted stuff to make some room.

I've never had any of those problems... odd.

Lucky you. I looked it up, I'm not alone in this.

Lucky you. I looked it up, I'm not alone in this.

You have to restart each time you need to use PS Store?

That's crazy - would have me thinking it's a DNS issue from your internet provider side and not the PS side, have you tried popping Google DNS settings into your console?

Over the last few weeks I've noticed that Destiny is reporting my connection to the game as yellow and red bar a lot of the time. My internet speed is pretty good by all accounts so when I test my connection on PC I get this:

    5559628461.png

As the PS4 browser doesn't load Flash, I also carried out a a test at www.speedof.me which is HTML5 based, on PC I get similar results to the above but on the PS4 I get roughly 22Mbps up and 20Mbps down. This test is carried out with a server in London so Latency increases, 28ms on PC and 55ms from PS4.

When I carry out the built-in PSN connection test I get 82Mbps down and 8Mbps up, latency not supplied.

I suppose basically I am wondering why there is such a variance in the reporting of my upload speed. I am inclined to believe the built-in test of the PS4 and they do state that they are approximate only but numerous tests at different times of the day yield the same results.

I have tried utilising Google DNS on the PS4 but the results are worse, I have done the usual reboots of both PS4 and router and also swapped out eternet cables and ensured that nothing else was sucking bandwidth. There is obviously a problem with the upload from the PS4 and I would like to know if anyone else has come across this.

My PC and PS4 are side by side and both are hardwired directly to my Eircom router.

Ive ran internet tests on the PS4 a few seconds apart, one will tell me 85mb/s down and 10mb/s up,literally do one 5 seconds after first one and ill get 11mb/s down and 1mb/s up. Its pretty useless for guaging your actual average speed.

This is on a 240mb Virgin package

Took the plunge on Absolute Drift for 12 euro and it's a great laugh. Like a mix between World Rally arcade game, mirrors edge (colour scheme) and oli oli. Easy pick up, difficult to master, frustrating/satisfying. Race against ghosts of your best times and also world record hosts. Soundtrack is really good as well, electronic music really goes well with the game.

Honestly it seems pretty consistent my speed checks but it's the reporting of the upload speed that is bothering me. The issue can't be internet connection itself, maybe router but unlikely if my PC has full speed but more probable it is a PSN issue.

I haven't tried setting a static ip but I should probably give that a go.

Mines the same, I'm with Vodafone and using a wired connection I get between 60-80mbs down and get yellow status bar in Destiny a lot. Also get a lot of my kills not registering till a few seconds after their health bar goes down which always give the opponent time to kill me.

You see my connection in Destiny has always been rock solid but for the last maybe 2-3 months I'm having issues and it seems to have gotten even worse over the last few weeks. I'm experiencing the same sort of delays and kill trading like you describe but I also seem to have trouble with melee strikes registering and the same with grenades but to a lesser extent.

Up until now I had put it down to Destiny but I'm worried it might actually be something my end. The last thing I need is connection trouble in Destiny, it comes with more than enough already!

Looks like an Assassins Creed Ezio Collection is on the way to the PS4 featuring the Assassins Creed 2 series remastered.

Would be extremely excited if this comes to fruition!

Is that not just it's Xbox servers as MS hosts all/most XBL EU servers in Ireland.

I hate FPS. Mostly because Im useless at them.

Is it just me or are more and more new games come out first person?

Was a bit wrong, they're using Microsoft Azure, Google, and Amazon cloud services.

Kinda makes sense when you'd people the last game not being released at all in certain regions as they'd be too far from the servers.

Prominence Poker, a free-to-play poker game coming to PS4 on Tuesday. Actually looks like a bit of craic. I wonder if you can setup private matches or is it with just randomers everytime. Sounds like it has a single player as well, playing bossess of different areas.

Just checked on XB1 there, you can set matches to public or friends only alright.

Only played a little bit of it but the story mode seems kind of fun alright.

Cool, could be a laugh then. I know poker that doesn't use real money just isn't the same but will be worth a go. Just hope it's better than that free casino game on the store at the moment, that was cack.

$ony can be real s**ts some times, the refund policy is shocking, and seems so disconnected from the "For the players" BS they spout at us constantly....

But if you went to GameStop with the game claiming the same (motion sickness, not what I thought it was, crashes etc), you wouldn't get your money back. Just because Steam does it, does not mean PS have to do it.

Or they should both (all three) do it? Are you suggesting we shouldn't get refunds? Bit odd. Gamestop would probably give you back a refund in credit, if nothing else.

GameStop would not. You opened the box and now it is secondhand. You would get credit for your sale back to them which is an advantage the bricks and mortar stores have and need to keep if they are to survive.

There is loads of content for No Mans Sky on YouTube. It is pretty easy to make a decision to purchase based on that. Just because you don't like your impulse purchase does not mean you can just hand it back.

Admittedly the game should have been pushed out as a time limit demo (one day) and then purchase after that. I would like to see a lot more online sales go that way.

$ony have a history here, their refund policy has been questioned many times. Crashes/bad performance and false advertising are very reasonable reasons for asking for a refund imo. Im not suggesting someone should be allowed to play 30hrs of a game and then request a refund. It would have to be a reasonable request, but $ony dont seem to care. If it really all was "For the Players" they would have a better system in place for refunds.

Would you accept such a refund policy for any other item you buy from a retailer? Im guessing not,and neither would I. Its anti consumer.

EDIT: Just as an aside to your youtube comment, when was that in game footage available? Pre or post launch?

Yes there was gameplay footage on youtube before launch. There were copies of the game released 5 days before they should have. The "ending" was shown before the game even came out.

The game is false advertising though, there is an ingame screenshot on the back of the box showing a planet with dinosaurs that was shown at an E3 demo yet nothing like that is in the game at all.

There really should be a cooling off period on PSN digital purchases like there is with Steam on PC. What ever happened to the days of game demo being released before the game. The single player demo for Doom came out 3 months after the games release, whats the point. The multiplayer beta put most people off the game, it's a cracking single player shooter.
