Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Bluetooth is congested as hell in urban areas unfortunately. I've two blackspots on my commute, corner on Stephens green and Grafton and at the north end of Westmoreland St. Link always degrades there and can be stuttery until past the GPO.

This is the price we pay for never ever having a frayed cable again :D

Used the lower bit rate method on the way home this evening, still encountered some drop outs at the two sections mentioned above but much better than the morning certainly on the tolerable level, no noticeable drop in sound quality either

Its worth noting that BT "channel hops" automagically, so you might find its still randomly poor if you happen to be in the wrong band at the wrong time. But good to know you can get through the RF cloud without losing the sweet sweet beats.

Kudos to Niall in CPW Galway. I got an e-mail this morning to say that my order of last night was now out of stock and none available in any of the Galway stores. I mentioned I had a person driving from Dublin this afternoon, so he booked the last one in Athlone for me. I followed up with a call and sure enough he had. I offered to pay over the phone by Debit Card, but they were not able to accept card details by phone so it was paid for in cash.

I have enjoyed them all evening blasting my music to the max without anyone else having to 'suffer' my music selection. I can walk through the house without the slightest drop in quality playing my selection from my android phone.

Best 30 yoyo spent in a mighty long time.. :-)

    Many thanks OP

Reserved in CPW Dungarvan and picked up yesterday without any confirmation e-mail. Seemed to have plenty in stock. Was told they were €130.
Connected to my HTC M8 using NFC no problem.
Does anybody know how to connect to Samsung Smart TV.
Have Bluetooth keyboard and glasses connected to TV but can't find any menu to connect theses headphones.

Bought the last pair in kilmartins Athlone, so no point calling out to that one if you are in Athlone

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,378 ✭✭✭✭TitianGerm

Picked up my pair in Enniscorthy at 5.55 last night. There were 5 pairs left on the shelf at that time.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,508 ✭✭✭✭noodler

Couldn't see any in Grafton St, staff busy so didn't hang around to ask.

  • Registered Users Posts: 442 ✭✭odddavey

At least three left on the shelf in cpw northside, Dublin, that was about five.
I don't think they are open tomorrow

    Sold out in Sligo also.

Did anyone actually get a 2nd mail to say they were ready to collect?
I got a confirmation mail but it didn't even mention which store they were reserved in (Liffey Valley). Called in the following day and the girl had a look around, said they had none and never asked about a name or order/invoice number.

I had reservations in LV and only got 1 email. When I went down on Friday, they never put the stock aside and had 1 left on the shelves. The reservation system seems to be a joke.

I also remember that he looked at me like I had two heads when I said I had a reservation. He didn't seem to know what the number was for and just asked me what I was looking for.

I was exactly the same. I'm still waiting on my second email but went into LV on friday and the girl just gave me a pair from the stock she had. She had no idea about the reservations either, she said that all goes through the UK office.

I reserved a pair in the Carphone Warehouse franchise in Harvey Norman Waterford. Got a confirmation email with the reservation number etc.
Went to collect them on Saturday. Was told "sorry we aren't allowed sell them in this shop"
I was one of several people who had that experience. Very strange.

Ordered a pair to pick up at HN Rathfarnham, Went in and was told they don't sell Headphones... I left my number and the guy on the counter rang back to say he had reserved one in the nearest store with stock which was Ashleaf SC and I had until Sunday to pick it up. Fair play to the lad for sorting it out, but as others have said the online ordering system is very poor.

The headphones themselves are great for the price, a comfortable fit, sound is good, reasonable volume with my phone. Thanks to the OP for a decent bargain

i guess I'm the only one who had a reasonable experience reserving through CH, maybe if we all email them about this it would sort such issues out in the future.

Just to echo, I had the same experience as many here.

Reserved for pickup in Grafton Street, went in yesterday and they had no idea how the reserve and pickup system works. They didn't even know if I had paid already or not. Had none in stock anyway, waste of a trip.

Opposite in nutgrove, reserved online, rang on the off chance 5 minutes later and they had my order and then gave me one from the shelf.

Whatever about 30 quid being a bargain, anyone that would have contemplated purchasing at €130 needs a serious talking to.

Agreed. Albeit they are nice, in all honesty the build quality wouldn't warrant anything above 50. Especially the cheap plastic used for the casing and the charger cover rubber.

Sorry but this is slightly off topic about another product that was on special offer in CPWH

It was the Sony Smartband for €20

What are the chances of them getting it back in?

Not sure.. but I got it and didn't think it was worth €20. Traded it into CEX for about €13 a few weeks later.

You can get the far superior Xiaomi MiBand for less than it.

Yeah battery life was atrocious on it compared to the miband. And the face you get notifications to work with miband makes it even better.

Paying for a brand there with that smartband.

Liffey Valley got a fresh delivery of these today. Customer service were able to confirm they had the stock and got the store to phone me on my mobile and confirm they were putting one aside for me. Picked it up just after lunch - 2 still left out on shelf in store.

Reserved a pair last night for collection. Went in to collect and they said they had no stock. Still showing as in stock at the store online.

So not only is the site horrible to use, its also broken

Reserved some in cork myself, but none in the shop. The shop said it was first come first served and the online system took no account of what was actually in stock in the shop.

    Ffs :(

Picked up the last pair in Clare Hall last night. Had them while wandering around town earlier and they are very handy. Good sound quality, and fairly comfortable.
Thanks to whoever originally spotted that they were discounted!

Their ordering system seems to be extremely poor. I had a failed order before ordering successfully a second time. However I wanted to ensure that the first one wouldn't go through.
Between being put on hold numerous times and long pauses from their end, this is the jist of the conversation:

Me: Hello I'd like to ensure order no. 1246 is not going through.
CPW: That order number isn't right. You need a six digit number.
Me: That's the number listed on the email subject line. Hold on I'll look in the email... There is no other number. But 1246 is listed as the invoice number in the email.
CPW: We need the order number.
Me: You guys have only provided me with one number. It's invoice no.: 1246.
CPW: I need a six digit order number.
Me: I don't have any. You didn't give me any. If you can look up invoice number 1246 you'll find my order.
CPW: I can't do that. I need an order number.
Me: I don't have any order number. The only number I have is a four digit invoice number - 1246. Just look up that and you'll find my order.
CPW: But I need an order number.
Me: I only have an invoice number - 1246. This is not a number I've just made up... it's a number I've been given by you, by CPW. You create invoice numbers for a reason.
CPW: But...... I need the order number.
Me: Can you just look up the invoice number?
    CPW: No
Me: Can anyone there look it up?
    CPW: No

Their eventual resolution was that if I got a dispatched email or received the product I should contact them to arrange a return.

Carphone warehouse in general are just a joke of a company. Only a matter of time before they finish and go bust.

Firstly I reserved a pair of these headphones in the carphone warehouse in harvey norman Waterford. Received order/invoice number. Went in and was told they don't sell headphones there. They reserved one in another carphone warehouse to which they said will be held for me.

Went in to collect and they didn't have any headphones reserved they just grabbed one from the shelf for me. Went to pay and they told me that they can't actually sell these headphones as they were showing out of stock on their system. They had 3 pairs on the shelf. They then took my name and number and said they would ring me once the problem was sorted and I could collect the headphones. No sign of any call from them. This was last weekend....

I ordered a pair to collect in blancharstown last week. Went in with the reservation email and they didn't seem too familiar with the reservation process, asking me had I paid online. Then I was told similarly to you dupsthekid that there was a glitch in their system which shows up the reserved ones as being sold so when you go to buy them they can't sell them. She eventually found some workaround though and I got my headphones.

Have these a couple of weeks now.

Easily the best 30 quid I've spent in a long time, great BA OP!

Two weeks later, finally get a shot at them. Box arrived pretty bashed around and theres a rattle in the right driver that makes them unbearable to listen to.

If they worked and nightline werent sh1t, then they are an OK BA. There's in ears on amazon for less that sound a good 30% better though.

I honestly think there's a great sound out of them when they're connected to my phone. I have a pair of wired Sennheiser HD205 II beside me too that don't sound as good as the Sony ones do.

Saying that, I connected the Sony's to my PC and the sound was shíte altogether :pac:
