Was a very good day out, a bit slippy underfoot but the views up in Howth are well worth it...

Looks like a great run. Sorry I didn't make it. I'm afraid Laziness got the better of me this morning :o

So... Where's next on the list?

Let the debate start...maybe people could post up possible dates too? Think the original plan was for the May Bank Holiday but that doesn't seem to suit many.

    A few suggestions:

Marlay Park (start of Wicklow Way) ?
    Kilmashoghue (Wicklow Way) ?
    Dublin Mountains (Hellfire/Cruagh/Tibradden) ?
    St. Anne's Park ?
    Glen of The Downs ?
Bray to Greystones Cliff Path ?
    Glendalough ?
    Devil's Glen ?

If there's a consensus on venue and date we can open a new thread.

A nice run which I do is starting in Marley park, run up to the hellfire via Massey's wood. About 4 - 5 miles hilly up but fun coming down. Great views across the city from the top.

Sounds lovely. Do you have a Garmin (or other) link to the route by any chance ?

Sounds good to me too, I've never even been to Marlay!

Most of the others sound good too... Other than St Anne's... Too familiar and not wild enough!

Marlay park sounds nice, I've never been. is the bray to greystones cliff walk the one krusty was mentioning on his log? Would be very interested in that one if so. But I'm happy to mosy along to whichever.

The weekend of the 9/10 may is probably the only one that suits me with races on both weekends either side. Even at that I can only the Sunday, the 10th. So go with whatever suits the majority anyway.

Lovely to meet you all in "real-life" and to sample the flapjacks & peanut/choc squares & banana bread ....

Feeling nicely buzzed after that :)

I was just thinking of the southsiders Anna! But true, no Yetis or frogs in St.Anne's, just squirrels!

What a great morning out. Very enjoyable. Nice to meet some new and old faces. And yummy cake. Thanks again for organising BG.

FBOT - that probably was us I'd say. No murph or duanington this morning.

Looking at the photos it was you guys alright. If I had walked a little slower I could have photo bombed the photo from the 18th tee. Only my hat is visible:(

Is much of that on the road ? I know Masseys and how to get to Hellfire from there but not familiar with the best route to take from Marley to Masseys. My map reading skills are up there with my balancing and baking skills :o:o

I'm not sure what a TRQ is but I can hazard a guess with that winky face.....

Thought it was something along those lines - I'm not privy to dubgal's intricate TRQ workings and whether 2 counts as a quorum but sounds good to me. As good a place to start anyway!

Ugh, would prefer to avoid road... Could we start further up or something?

Apart from that add me to the quorum.

Pretty sure we could make a route out of Masseys and Hellfire with very little road (a few hundred metres between the 2 woods I think) Probably plenty on here who could advise better than me!

I believe so but not sure how you would avoid Meath if you followed it :D

10th May suits me too.. there's a big advantage to doing Marley if we finish up there as there's a farmers market will stalls that have tea/coffee and lots of yummy cakes & buns so no one would need to bake :-)

Ha ha. I would but I can hardly walk atm, never mind run around hills. Plantar fasciitis in one foot and achilles tendinopathy in the other. If I was a horse they'd shoot me.

Ouch, sorry to hear that. Hope you see improvement soon. Thanks for the route suggestion, much appreciated.

Thanks to all who organised (BG) and to the Trail leaders. Nice to meet you all, hopefully we can organise another for the near future.

Folks, we have a few interested for Sunday 10th May and a possible route involving Massey Woods and Hellfire. Will I start a new thread or do people want to put some more suggestions forward ?

Ha ha, was planning to offer the torch to someone else for this one, otherwise we could well end up lost on the trails at Hellfire close to the witching hour

It was great to meet you all yesterday. Found the run tough but very enjoyable. Great photos too! I loved that last muddy descent... :D

I won't be around the weekend of the 9-10th May, unfortunately. Either side would have been ok. Hopefully I'll make the next one.

Last but not least, thanks for the lovely cakes! :p
