Would it be in the vicinity of Caherdavin?

    Joseph street

Sorry, my one is not Joseph street.

Snotaul, I don't think I can stop people guessing my one so we'll probably have two on the go, when you said "go on so!" I thought you wanted me to post another.

Yours has the look of Ballinacurra Gardens which has already been guessed.

Where's this eye-catching landmark, then? (bit of a "gimme", really, but it might puzzle a few people...)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,382 ✭✭✭peckerhead

Right in one! Viewed from behind, while walking the mutt in the old racecourse. Same vantage point as this:

    Is that not Roches feeds?

Also for Ballinacura, the house at the end of the pic was a relatives of mine so thats how I knew it.

Yup, that's what I'd have called it too. Isn't the "mills" the big stone building further down the road, on the left heading towards town?

The man who lived there passed away late last year actually

Go on so, the door in the bottom right was once the main entrance to my gaff

You're not Denis Allen (of 'Limerick you're a Lady' Fame) are you? He lived there with his mother in the '70's.
Back then the 3 windows you can see behind this house didn't exist. That was a derelict Coach house for sunville house, but was later totally rebuilt.

Denis Allen as well?? That house is steeped in Limerick legends. Sunville House was the home of the Cleeves family and then of Donogh O'Malley. We rented a lovely apartment (one of two) which was an extension of the original house with the entrance to the side as you see in the picture, that was a little over ten years ago, the main house was and probably still is owned by a prominent gynaecologist.

I think most of the city knew him.

Now, back to the pictures. :pac:

Don't think anyone has guessed swipers last one. Haven't a clue.

    I'm actually enjoying this! :D

Is this restricted to the city?

Not my game but I'd say go for it for outside as well (though I definitely won't have a hope being a blow in as it is!)

Swiper's PIC looks like somewhere around Nicholas Street. I'm going to kick myself when I see the (correct) answer, it looks really familiar.

North or south side? This is a difficult one

Totally off topic but I hate the way the heritage of our city is being destroyed by cement render!! Should be made illegal to plaster over red brick, even if it isnt the nicest thing.

Im thinking somewhere around St. Marys Park or Thomondgate?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,747 ✭✭✭Swiper the fox

St Mary's park and Nicholas street are the best guesses so far.

  • Moderators Posts: 3,554 ✭✭✭Wise Old Elf

Bishop St or St. Francis place then?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,628 ✭✭✭mrsoundie

    Naughton's Place

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,747 ✭✭✭Swiper the fox

None of those. II'll try to think of a clue tomorrow but it'll probably give it away.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 24,337 ✭✭✭✭phog

    Multiple answers

    Clontarf Place

    St Joseph's St

    WolfeTone St

Or any if the streets off St Joseph's St or connecting to Wolfe Tone St

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,747 ✭✭✭Swiper the fox

No. It's near a church alright and the house is about twenty yards from a pub.
