    I'm about to begin the process of my thesis for college and I am hoping to do it on the change in cultural significance of tattooing. Does anyone know where I can find some academic and preferably recent articles/books/etc on this? I've tried all the usual places like the college library, JSTOR and Ebrary but i'm having no luck. Any step in the right direction would be much appreciated.

    Lars Krutak springs to mind - he's an anthropologist interested in world tattooing practices.

    Also Matt Lodder, who goes at it from the POV of an art historian.
