Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Checked the time of kick off today while half asleep and thought it was half 3, just checked again there.

Great day. Almost as good as waking up to no alarm not hungover.

Two things I can't figure out is the complete write off of Valdes and a 20 year old Januzaj.

    Baffles me.

Personally speaking, I'm not writing Valdes off because of his injury. I just never rated him and think it would be a huge step backwards in the "project".

A settled back 5 is the basis of building any team IMO and changing keepers at this stage would be a big step backwards in the progression of the team.

Agree with your second sentence there Adox. Completely....

And while de Gea to Valdes would represent a step backwards in terms of quality, if Valdes is 100% over his injury, and returns to pre-injury form, well I think he's a really really good keeper, and we could do a lot worse.

Also going on Van Gaals comments re Falcao it looks like he is definitely gone in the summer.

    No brainer really.

De Gea named in team of the year. :)

@SkySportsNewsHQ: BREAKING: PL @PFA Team of the Year - De Gea; Ivanovic, Terry, Cahill, Bertrand; Hazard, Matic, Coutinho, Sanchez; Kane, Costa #SSNHQ

Can't argue too much with that, Cahill the only one that you probably would argue. Matic is there by default, don't think he's been anything special for a lot of the season.

Hate the way they do these with 4/5 games left and presumably the votes have been in a while back.
Leaving out the most important last few games.

Anyone know why they do it now?

Does anyone know if any of United's remaining matches are televised? If so, which are on SS? Thanks.

Time to ring Sky/Setanta with the 31 day notice for alot of people - unless of course you like cricket, but that's utter cack!

    Rooney up front. :)

    Blind starts.

No Complaints with that team at all. Glad LVG didn't try to shoehorn rap into the lineup.. McNair deserved to retain his place after the Chelsea game

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,347 ✭✭✭Quandary

    Happy with that team :)

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,061 ✭✭✭irishfeen

As strong a team I think LVG could have fielded...

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,061 ✭✭✭irishfeen

I hope Shaw and McNair have a stormer - both couldn't be shifted from the team after that Chelsea game.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,347 ✭✭✭Quandary

I'd love to see Shaw have a strong finish to the season and really claim that left back spot.

McNair to put Lukaku in his pocket.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 23,229 ✭✭✭✭J. Marston

Di Maria, Falcao and Van Persie on the bench.

No issue with it but it just seems so weird.

De Gea could very well stay, we don't know. He could simply be waiting for CL confirmation. He may want to move back home.
Seen some nasty comments on Twitter directed towards DDG from supposedly United fans over a contract not yet being signed.
Ridiculous given he has always given 100%.

For some reason I had a dream that Raphael started. Not even on the bench. #psychic

Evans must be injured which is annoying as I'd be wary of having to rely on McNair as he's had a couple of horror shows this season.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,668 ✭✭✭Whatsisname

I hope today isnt one of the days McNair needs to be hauled off at half time. Played fantastic against Chelsea, hope he can keep up the form.

3 broken ribs will do that to a player...

One of the main concerns from this season is how Van Gaal deals with two organised lines of 4 when the possession game looks ineffective

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 19,889 ✭✭✭✭The Moldy Gowl

    This is all Woodwards fault.

Might be only 4 points ahead of Liverpool on Tuesday evening.

    Fúck sake....

Losing to Everton is a sackable offense...

Don't worry about them. They will still have to win all their games and we have to lose 3.

    Genuinely can't see that happening.

Very strange game really - wouldn't write us off yet ... Di Maria for Young at HT for me.

After the 11/12 season I wont be happy till we are mathematical secure

Even if they win their next match it's 4 points with games left.

    It's pretty safe.

Agree with Irishfeen, Di Maria needs to be brought on.

This just re-iterates the need for better players to be signed this summer.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,061 ✭✭✭irishfeen

Anyone else think Fellani should be taken off?? - I think another yellow is only 1 tackle away... ref not giving us much either here.

Im stick and tired of seeing him start. He shouldnt be near the 1st team and its debatable should he be at the club.

  • Registered Users Posts: 941 ✭✭✭pheasant tail

It's worrying that Fellaini can't put himself about now. I'd like to see Maria for Mata and we'd have good pace on both wings then. Nothing's gunna come through the centre with the way Everton are going to set up and defend this lead

Is it just me or does DDG not seem like himself recently? Not making the saves or commanding the area like he normally does.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 54,656 ✭✭✭✭Headshot

    Brilliant decision by LVG

Probably because he hasn't had that much to do.

Dundalk winning Friday the results yesterday today had a big chance to be a feck up : (
