Mata is going nowhere after that. Delighted for him, Mata and Fellaini were great buys by Moyes.

I was laughing as soon as Di Maria hit that pass because I just knew Mata was going to try something spectacular. What a player he is.

Good team play in the first half. Fell away a good bit in the second.

Rooney had a stinker, but nothing to worry about.

Great chance for top four now.

Am I the only one that thinks Herrera was man of the match? We are a completely different side when he plays, thankfully he is now getting the chance.

Pity it so late in season but Utd are starting to play as a team, great passing to hold onto the ball coming near the end.Jones and Smakling v good overall which was another big positive.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,349 ✭✭✭Quandary

Let's hope we can continue this form now lads. A good hammering of Villa at OT before City come calling would be just the ticket.

People talking of potentially winning the league after our last 2 performances are out of their minds IMO, but if we kick on from here we should be blasting our way to 3rd and possibly even 2nd if City continue to be sh1t.

After the storm they created for costa, then yes, there has to be action taken by FA.

Di Maria was poor when he came on

Always looking to move the ball forward and not afraid to get stuck in,we look a lot better when he's in the team.

  • Di Maria was poor when he came on

    Except for his assist

Jones was as awful as always. He's a liability. Agreed on Smalling. Was very good today.

He plays on the edge in his passing gqme and his tackling game. Delighted he is getting a chance. No coincidence that playing alongside Mata is helping him. Both seem to have a good understanding of wherevthe other will be and they have the ability to make the right pass ro each other.

Jones did fine. Blind's positioning was very poor and it caused a lot of trouble. But you can't be too harsh on him considering how little he's played back there and how good Liverpool's forwards are.

I agree, Jones had to cover for blind and this is what pulled Jones out of position

Im very proud of the players today. Im especially delighted for LVG. The slack he has gotten is disgraceful.

    Great performance
Still things up work on but we're getting there game by game
Still have arsenal and Citeh to come to old Trafford
    Second is a realistic aim
RoonEY should be taken off penalties
In the czar of Aalkmar we trust

A huge amount of the plaudits have to go to our midfield for that victory. The protection of the centre halves was immense. Coutinho et al didn't get a sniff.

I thought, Carrick, Herrera, Mata and Fellaini were great. It is so refreshing seeing Utd play with a tight midfield unit when we have been missing it for pretty much a decade.

To be fair, it took him seven months to figure out how to use his squad. He deserved plenty of stick for the dumb formations and players out of position that were fùcking up the season before now.

I'm happy with 4th for now and hoping Arsenal win next weekend, if we beat Villa 9 points with goal difference is an unlikely gap to bridge then we can look at overtaking Arsenal and City

Arsenal and United lose and Liverpool are right back in it with us to play Chelsea and City remember

  • Registered Users Posts: 33,757 ✭✭✭✭RobertKK

Van Gaal: happy with the fans.
    First half so good.
Not as happy with second half.
Mata has confirmed again how good he is playing

Van Gaal very happy having beaten Liverpool three times in a row. Very important moment.
    Second place current aim.

I'd rather a draw for Pool / Arsenal next week. As unlikely as it may be that United will be able to hold 3rd through the Chelsea and City games, it'd be nice to pip Arsenal for it and see what happens.
