Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Here we go again when a liverpool supporter gets offended over a phrase.Last year it was the word "justice". It always happens after they lose.

However, fair play to Utd. 100% deserved the win without a shadow of a doubt.

Hope you enjoyed it (despite the result). Atmosphere seemed amazing at times, I would have loved to be there.

I really think you've read too much into this. I really, really don't think either poster was mocking the 96.

Lads, again, drop it now. Really doesn't need more discussing.
We cant discuss the match here and the match thread is closed?

It's pretty obvious that most matches get discussed in superthreads. I'm actually going to bring up that rule with the other mods now. One thing I'd say is that match threads should be used over superthreads when the match is on, but obviously days like today, match discussion is going to be grand in this thread, especially when the match thread is closed.

If it was a match thread for a game against Arsenal or Chelsea you wouldn't have said "never forget", it just wouldn't have been any sort of relevant reference. Liverpool fans use the term "never forget" about Hillsborough a fair bit, so you made a joke about it. It's idiotic and scummy behaviour.

I always took at as a kind of meme, it's used here and other sites all the time, sarcastically, for trivial things that really mean very little.

Cheers bud. Its good to see a common sense approach like above being considered. I think its fair to completely leave them out of superthreads as long as a match thread is open.

Anyways, moving on from this....I thought Smalling had a good game today and has played well for a while now. Think himself and Rojo could make a good team on current form.

That first half was as well as I've seen Utd ever play at Anfield so well done.

Also, if Mata doesn't start every game until the end of the season, LVG must be blind and stupid. Head and shoulders above any other attacking player on show today.

The way he's been treated up until now is more than a bit mental IMO.

    Seriously Pro F

Just stop nobody means that at all

How on earth can you suddenly presume to know I or headshot mean this as a dig to Liverpool fans, I celebrated the win and the fun that was had in the match thread and because it was closed so quick it will be missed...never forget

Never forget has been used for ****ing god knows how many topics for years

I hate Liverpool and most of there fans but I didn't mean what you are suggesting full stop

Forlan got a song after scoring 2 goals at Anfield. Mata deserves one now :)

I made the point earlier he's class with the correct support in midfield

Really getting the best out of him with Carrick and Herrera supporting

Yeah I had great hope for Jones. He can put in some great performances but they're too far between and he can be awfully headless too. Would keep him as backup but not as first choice.

What an enjoyable first 30 minutes today. So controlled and dominant in possession.
Kinda reminded me of another of lvg's visits to Anfield back in 2001 with Barcelona when they won 3-1 I think and Liverpool literally couldn't get the ball off them.

Didn't Louis mention Bayern's win away to Juve as the moment they literally clicked and really moved up the gears from then on into following season when they won Bundesliga and got to Champions League final. Hopefully the last 2 performances are our "clicking moment"!

LVG saying he has finally found a balanced formation and an effective position for Mata.

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/32010643

Hopefully we see Mata start every game for the rest of the season now. Himself and Herrera are essential to us playing an effective possession based game.

Fair enough lads. You've convinced me that it's just a coincidence. Never mind me, I apologise.

Would love that! Love the Mata Herrera combination! It's like just watching two friends having a kick about, they seem to have a great relationship and understanding with each other.

Does anyone know of anywhere legitimate I could get the match. Was at a coaching course so I didn't get to see it.
