Will prices drop with new releases?

Hi, I was looking at changing my phone to a Moto E or a cheaper one of the Samsungs...but I heard the prices of these existing models will drop further when the shops get delivery of the newly released models after the Mobile Congress. Any truth in this? Should I just wait another week and see? Cheers in advance.
