Huge respect to the ref this evening.

Players booked and sent off for diving at home. No team dives and cheats as much as United players . Hugely satisfying seeing refs finally standing up to it.

That was more a general rant. If something similar happened in another sport the referee would at least pull the player away and ask the captain to have a word or something. The referee in football just seems to think he can do what he likes and treat players like children and wonders why they act like children in response.

The problem is the same ref will probably leave loads go in the next game. Consistency is the only thing that should be praised not individual matches.

I'm a United fan - But fair play to the referee here who has called out 2 blatant dives and deservedly sent off Di Maria. I'm inclined to agree that this team are an embarrassment to the club of men like Law, Charlton, Robson, Keane and Schmeichel.

Hoofing the ball to a big man, shocking individual errors from the back 4, possession with no purpose and cheating. That is what this current team will be known for despite their ridiculous price tags. (DDG apart)

Best refereeing performance i have seen in a big game in a long time. Was right not to send Bellerin off and comparing that incident to clear dives from Di Maria and Januzaj is silly. Differing offences and Danny Murphy was right in saying not every foul is a yellow card. Di Maria was stupid to put his hand on the ref and no complaints.

United tried to play tonight and werent able. Not good enough. Not enough confidence in themselves. Was at the Southampton game a few weeks ago and the tentativeness in the play was plain to see. Hate watching my team playing long to Fellaini but he tries hard and has had a decent season.

All in all, deserved to lose that tonight. Good luck to Arsenal.
