Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    'Wan the lads :).

Good to see we've finally found a use for Mertesacker....counteracting United hoofball.

GG now I am going to go off and have a quiet heart attack in the corner!

De Gea is breathing down Neuers neck

    He is incredible.

It could've been a whole lot worse without him.

Not only this game, but the season as a whole.

The OT voodoo is broken for Arsenal. Ah bugger if Liverpool beat Blackburn they'll just get the Gunners won't they :(

That was the most enjoyable Arsenal game I've watched in years.

Surprised how poor Utd were tonight, I think they are facing a long road back to success. Lots of problems in that squad.

Just hoping for a home tie, is the draw on now?

Have they made the draw for the semi finals yet?

Excellent. Once arsenal negated the long ball game, they were always going to win!

Winners of the fa cup just came through this game.

Was going to be one or the other.

De Gea really is saving Van Gaal's bacon this season. All that money spent to win nothing and were it not for the goalkeeper, they'd be a few further places down the league

Always good to see Man U lose, but would rather face them than Arsenal at Wembley should my team progress.

You could almost hear the collective jizzing of the Liverpool fans when the yellows came out for United at the end there.

Great cup game, United just never got going second half. Excellent performance from the ref and a super performance from Arsenal.

Delighted with the win hard luck united

Really? Was that not the most blatant cheating you ever saw?

No I'm saying I thought it was absolutely the correct decision, I thought the ref was fantastic tonight, very brave calls but he's made the correct calls.

That was more a general rant. If something similar happened in another sport the referee would at least pull the player away and ask the captain to have a word or something. The referee in football just seems to think he can do what he likes and treat players like children and wonders why they act like children in response.

I would imagine its more the players act like children so get treated like children. Players shout at refs, if they are been spoken to won't look the ref in the eye but prefer to show contempt by deciding to fix their socks and then when they are caught doing something pretend they don't know what it was.

Jones is a curse for United, win over 70% of matches he doesn't play, when he plays we win somewhere in the 30% range.

De gea is amazing you are a very lucky team to have him.

    WE'RE GOING TO WEMBLEY :D

In hindsight De Gea probably should have clattered into Welbeck

Taking off herrara, putting fellaini at 10 leaving mata on the bench then put on a young lad not having a particularly good season instead of falcao when they needed a goal, would be fuming if i was a utd fan.

You pop up throughout every United match thread with little digs. United finished 7th last season. And have been mostly poor in this season. And you're surprised? Naw, you're just an ABU. Take a break amigo.

Well that was a terrible 2nd half. Arsenal not even that impressive playing against 10 for 20 mins and being gifted a goal.

Don't think LVG facial expression changed anytime the camera panned to him.

Without De Gea United would be in mid table mediocrity this season. If he goes in the summer they will be in a lot of trouble. Van Gaal is not the answer for United. The longer he stays in charge the more damage will be done to them.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,480 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

Ref could of easily put his hands out to play on regarding the De Maria fall. Yes no foul, not enough in it, but there was contact and player thought he'd take the free kick as he was under pressure. It could all have been different on another day.
It was not exactly a blatant dive, he grabbed at his arm he thought
'' ok I'll take the freekick''

I think Arsenal would have like Villa.
Bradford or Reading will be so hyped up and playing for their lives, that is never easy unless
Arsenal step up and show as much hunger . I don't think they will have that hunger, but they have the class.

It's a bit sad but each to their own. It must be frustrating to be slagging off a team and have its fans agree with you. Has been a tough season for United but, unlike others, i think Van Gaal is a winner and qualifying for the Champions League with this team and the injuries suffered would be a good first season.

Danny Welbeck is the real winner tonight. Danny Welbeck ended Arsenal's hoodoo at Old Trafford. Danny Welbeck is through to the semi-finals.
