Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hopefully Sturridges prayers are answered tomorrow with a semi-final place in the 2015 FA cup. Com'n the Reds

    MATCH PREVIEW

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers says that the FA Cup semi-finals should not be played at Wembley.
The winners of Sunday's tie at Anfield are guaranteed a trip to the famous stadium, which has hosted both semi-finals and the final since 2008.
Rodgers said: "In many ways I wish semi-finals weren't at Wembley as I think it takes something away from it. Wembley should be just for the final."
Liverpool have reached the semi-finals of the FA Cup on 23 occasions, most recently in 2012.
Blackburn have reached 18 - most recently in 2007 - and manager Gary Bowyer believes his side have found a game plan to beat the Reds at Anfield.
He said: "It's David versus Goliath. Nobody's giving us a chance outside of our dressing room.
"I think they're the most impressive team in the Premier League at the moment and the football that they're playing is fantastic. Obviously full credit to the manager for the way he changed his formation.
"We've studied the videos, we've come up with a game plan, and we've worked with the players on it. We'll go and take the challenge to Liverpool.
"The mood's one of excitement and rightly so. The lads have earned the right to play at Anfield with the performances in the previous rounds."
    MATCH FACTS

This is the 10th time these sides have been drawn together in the FA Cup, with Liverpool progressing five times and Blackburn four times previously.
Blackburn won the last FA Cup meeting 1-0 at Anfield in the fourth round in 2000, with Nathan Blake scoring the only goal.
Liverpool have won the FA Cup on seven occasions - most recently in 2006.
This is only the second time that Liverpool have reached the sixth round since they won the trophy in 2006. They also reached this stage in 2012, when they beat Stoke 2-1 at Anfield before losing to Chelsea in the final.
It is 131 years since Blackburn Rovers first won the FA Cup, in 1884. They have won the trophy on six occasions, but not since 1928.
Blackburn have reached the sixth round for the second time in three seasons, also reaching this stage in 2013 when they lost to Millwall.

Johnson RWB, Markovic LWB and Coutinho beside Henderson presumably

Back 3 of Johnson, Skrtel & Lovren with Can and Henderson in midfield?

Johnson wont be too bad in a back three, well fingers crossed anyway.

Wouldn't be lallana and Henderson in the middle and Johnson RWB?

    Then Coutinho behind SAS

    Would that work?

Liverpool to end up getting a comfortable 4-0 win and either Bradford/Reading in the semi - final.

Johnson playing rwb should be ok. Strong team for Liverpool.

If you could arrange that that'd be great.

He is worse going forward than he is defensively

Jaysus we are light on central midfielders right now

He is equally rubbish going in either direction.

Explains why he stands still, doing fuck all, most of the time.

7,000 Blackburn fans at Anfield and there was less at their match against Swansea.

    How pathetic.

    Come On Redmen :D

If both Johnson and Markovic are on the same side then that's where Blackburn can cause Liverpool a lot of problems. Could be a stressful one.

Is 7000 travelling fans for a Championship team not a decent amount?

There was only 6,000 in Ewood Park when Blackburn beat Swansea.

Holy shit. Seeing Skrtel actually waiting panned out down on the ground is extremely unsettling.

Is this a head injury, concussion maybe?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,948 ✭✭✭✭Osmosis Jones

Has to come off surely, looked to be out cold for a moment. Hopefully it's nothing serious.

He hit the ground and went out instantly. Stiff arms and all. I think it's called a Fencing Knock-out, or something.

    Hopefully Skrtel will be ok.

Lovren, Toure and Johnson as the back three. We may need to score a few to win this one!!

By the looks of it looks more like a neck injury than head injury.
