Exterior Shutters on windowns - Farmhouse outbuildings

    Hi,

    I am looking for some advice on putting Shutters on the outside of a farmhouse building which we are converting to a garage.

    I am talking about only 6 windows (some will be to the rear)

    If I am going ahead with them I would like to put in good quality ones and ones that look the part for a farm building. Could anyone offer advice on what type of wood be best or if you would recommend a different material.

    For the windows we are thinking of putting in a blue/grey colour....
