    Hi,

Is it possible to change the billing dates for either the electricity account or the gas account (both are with Electric Ireland currently)

    Thanks
    Dave

    Hi DJD,

    Thanks for your post.

The billing dates would be determined by the date of the corresponding meter readings, taken by ESB Networks in the case of electricity and Gas Networks Ireland in the case of gas.

An exception to this would be if you were availing of our direct debit equaliser payment method. You can find further information on this option in this thread.

We can, as a once-off, defer payment dates and set up payment plans if you are experiencing difficulty paying a paricular bill within the credit terms (14 days from date of issue).

Hope this helps. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

    Thanks,
    David

    Hi David,

    Thanks for that.
Just a bit of background - in the middle of last year we got one billing cycle on the ESB side that was three months long rather than the normal two. I don't know why this was as it was not something we had requested. The upshot of this is that both ESB and gas bills now fall due in the same month.
From what you are saying I need to go to ESB networks to change back - is this the case?

    Thanks
    Dave

The dates either ESB Networks or Gas Networks Ireland take meter readings would be dependent on the general area in which the readings are taken. For more information on readings policies see here for electricity and here for gas.

Bills should issue every 2 months, so waiting 3 months would certainly be an exception. Please feel free to send us your account details by private message (including your full name, address, contact number and confirmation that you are the account holder) if you would like us to look into this further for you.

    Thanks,
    David
