Metal Suppliers

Are there any model engineers out there that know of good metal suppliers?

I'm just about to buy a lathe and I'm looking for somewhere to buy some metal stock from.

I'm based in Maynooth so I presume Dublin would be the best place to find them.

I can find a lot of big wholesale places but I doubt they'd sell the small quantities I'm after.

    Thanks

Contact some local secondary schools who teach engineering. They would also be buying supplies in fairly small quantitys and must get it from somewhere

I've seen these folks being used by schools (saw some of their boxes). No connection to them though and no experience

    Thanks for the replies.

I'll follow them up and see how I get on.

Yesterday I bought a small amount of aluminium and brass from James Healy Engineers (info@jameshealy.ie) and they were very helpful.

    Regards,

    Chris

McQuillans used to be the place for machinists' supplies. I don't know what they have nowadays however.
    Probably worth a call.
