Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Times like that you'd love to see a manager being able to throw in a flag to challenge it, a la NFL.

Ref should be allowed to review and reverse at HT. He's got fukk all else to be doing.

There's more than just one red card in this game

Late, yes; reckless (and "dangerous"), no. Can't see how on earth you this that is reckless and dangerous, you're the only one here backing the yellow card. Even the Chelsea fans are having a laugh at it.

It was reckless. Going in like that

It was no worse than what Oscar done.

The 2 of them should have got up and played on, since neither were hurt.
Pity though that players now are so conditioned to react like someone has been shot and get all hot and bothered about nothing, as long as they get someone a yellow or red card and ruin the game.

It was your typical strikers challenge, no malice in it at all.

    David Luiz off next

I think the combined blood curdling screams from Oscar and Terry did for the ref there.

Known as cheating. Shame its now so ingrained in the game business

Sub off Oscar before he gets a second yellow.

These chelsea boys are the best actors, must do more drama lessons than football training. everyone of em drop like flies and roll around once touched, embarrassing stuff.

Oscar went in the same way, it was 50/50. If one was reckless both were reckless (neither were)

Ibra pulled out, Oscar followed through.

But by God did he give one hell of a performance.

Do you honestly think it was a sending off? If "captain, leader, legend" did something similar and got sent off, would you accept it?

Mourinhios teams just arent nice to watch. Was the same at Madrid.

Hate all that constant crowding of refs etc. It was the same Monday night in the cup.

That was a pen, more super refereeing.

How he went in was perfectly fine! No studs, was on the ground, wasn't two footed, ball to be won and wouldn't been a 50/50 had he been a 10th of a second earlier with the challenge. It was a foul, and by no means nothing more than that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 36,480 ✭✭✭✭BorneTobyWilde

Costa like a Jack Russel chasing the ball.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,036 ✭✭✭Sanity_Saviour

Inconsistency of refs is absolutely bizarre, if you can make one strong decision, why igore another clear one, especially for a penalty!

The amount of penalties earned by Costa gone unpunished is so inexplicable

Is he (she)? Fair enough. Puzzling he/she seems to be one of very few that thought it was a red card. He/she sounded like a Chelsea fan. My apologies to ebf. Though my point still stands.

Did John Terry kick Oscar in the head in his race to scream in the referee's face?

    Says it all really.

Yep, def a peno. Costa was bulling through the defence. Lots of legs in the way might have confused the ref.

Certainly, but you better start looking down, down.
We only dream of playing teams like Burnley (hint 2005!)
This allows me hate most of what happens in the upper echelons. Unfair and bitter, yes, but that's me :o
