I wouldn't be surprised if Alonso chooses to sit out Malaysia as well.

Just want to say thanks to the posters who put all the info at the start of this thread. Haven't watch F1 in about 10 years, but used to watch it a lot, and I'm hoping to watch it again this season. So it was great to get a good breakdown of all the relevant players for the first race here.

    Thanks...

    J.

Would you believe, I saw the very last race, as it was only then that I realised I actually had Sky F1 HD (I don't have Sky Sports, but do have Sky HD, and had assumed that if I clicked on the channel I'd be given a phone number to subscribe).

So I watched the whole race, after about 10 years off. Never mind not really knowing the drivers/teams, I spent most of my time saying things like 'What's DRS?' and 'They're hybrids now?!' :)

Man you're doing it wrong. :p

The last race was a huge anticlimax after a stonker of a season.

This years Mercedes is a very nice looking car:

Is it just me, or are the cars longer? Especially from the Driver back?

I'd say it's just the fact that the side pods and the engine cover are getting tighter and tighter so the whole thing looks longer.
I think there is a min and max wheelbase allowable so some cars will actually be longer than others.

    On a lighter note......:p

    Christ, these Mercs are lightening!

Its a case of the best of the rest for 2015 I think.

It was always going to be that way, they look to be further ahead than last year too. Looks like we might have a good scrap between Ferrari and Williams though, maybe Red Bull too.

Yeah, the Mercs look to be in a class of their own. :( Rosberg struggled to match Hamilton. I hope its tight between both of them else Hamilton will walk it.

Sad to see Red Bull so far away and McLaren at the back. Sainz and Verstappen impressed. Cant wait for tomorrow.

Bottas at the docs with his back. Claire Williams cant confirm if he'll race tomorrow!

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,647 ✭✭✭Charlie-Bravo

Was it not Massa who was holding his back after qualy?

Can Crofty not pronounce Nasr without it sounding like Massa?

Enjoyed that, delighted that Lewis is where he is :)

Such a shame that the gap from Mercedes to the rest of the field seems to have increased over the winter. Hopefully, at least, Nico will attempt to make it a bit of a race.

Wolff not allowed to step in if Bottas cannot start. Pity. It would interesting to see her put in and finally show her lack of pace.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,206 ✭✭✭Zcott

Wow. Is that McLaren's worst ever qualifying?

  • Registered Users Posts: 16,930 ✭✭✭✭challengemaster

Ricciardo already down one power unit... it's going to be an interesting season for RedBull

    Impressive show from Toro Rosso.

Very pleased to see Ferrari back in a competitive position for 3rd. With Rosberg and Hamilton going for round 2, and Williams and Ferrari fighting over 3rd place it should be a good season to watch

Lewis was superb today. Hoping he wins tomorrow and Massa joins him on the podium.

They should bring over Juan Pablo Montoya to take his seat for the race.

Just watched the replay wow mercs are far ahead, Lewis looks really quick I hope it was just the mistake why rosberg was so far back.
