Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Interesting reading considering what people are trying to do here in Ireland ..

I know it mightn't be up everyone's street, but thought it worth the share..

The multiuse element is where CI may be going astray or limited by whatever external pressures. On a recent training trip we saw the inner part of the track used for indoor soccer on Friday night, hockey on Saturday while Sunday was racing on the track, but I believe there was another event on afterwards. Getting in with one other organisation (Badminton Ireland) is selling the venue and its facilities short.

I suspect the funding is dependent on multiuser stadia. If the sports council are funding most of it probably a condition.

I would have thought so, but haven't seen it mentioned.

Multiuse seems to be the way to go. The arena the velodrome in Glasgow is in was used for the Davis Cup last week.

My understanding is Badminton Ireland will effectively be required to support both initial funding but also more importantly running costs. They are expecting to take a lot more by hiring out the centre as Badminton courts than they will from the velodrome.

I would add (as I've mentioned plenty of times before) that Manchester regularly hires out its "centre" and was at one stage home to the Manchester Giants basketball team. Newport similarly is a multi-sport location. I'm really not seeing what should concern anyone about such proposals.

the problem I foresee is which organization gets priority, to be economically viable it needs to have multiple uses but should it have multiple 'owners'?

Priority only becomes an issue for international events and things like nationals and calendars simply need to be co-ordinated. Beyond that the track and inner courts can be used simultaneously.

How about a concentric set of tracks utilised by smaller and smaller riders, ultimately centred around a flea circus?

I may have had a liquid lunch.
