A customer wishes to transfer money from a French bank (not sure which one) to my BOI account, I gave them my IBAN and BIC code but now they have asked for my physical address (not just my banking address). This makes me suspicious, is there any circumstances whereby they would need my actual home address to transfer a small sum of money (€100) into my account? I am probably just being paranoid but my overseas customers (rental property) have never asked for this information before, i.e. iban/bic etc was always enough to make payment.
thanks in advance for any advice.

    Hi fmlarnapairce,

    Thanks for your post.

IBAN and BIC should be enough for a SEPA transfer to your account and we would be unsure why your home address would be needed. There may be a reason why the sending bank requires a home address. If you know which bank the funds are being transferred from, you could contact them and ask what details they require for a SEPA transfer.

    Thanks

    Billy
