Pakistan must be miles ahead of D/L despite those 2 wickets

In any case the weather is not going to be an issue

Pointless working it out when its not gonna rain. But safe to say Pakistan well ahead of the D/L

98 needed of 132 balls. Need a couple more overs like the last 2.

Gonna have to bowl them out, no hope of restricting them to below the target. Couple of them overs would be good to build pressure of course

Feel for Dockrell here, he needs to be bowling, but Misbah is a monster against spin.

Indeed straws sometimes are very inviting. Will have to wait for highlights to see the weather following online.

What's the story with Misbah today??!!

they can share one with England :D

Ireland can get in that plane too

Shame that we caught Pakistan once they got their act in gear. Nonetheless I'd imagine if we were offered 3 wins out of 6 before hand most folk would have bitten the hand that was offering off.

Hopefully some food for thought for those higher up the food chain and if we can get some more ODI's and tours out of it all the better.

Jaysus those Barcelona lads on that Quatar ad were horrific

Well no matter what happens now Ireland still played their best world cup (3 wins) and go out on run rate.
Disappointing obviously but objectively better than previous WC.

Glad I picked up a ticket for the ODI in May.

Have really enjoyed this World Cup and would love to catch a game. How much are tickets for the ODI?

Probably 35 or so. Well worth it, it's a great day out.

Its a measure of this team too that they will be disappointed with the outcome despite exceeding expectations of most people. They don't have the 'happy to be here, anything else is a bonus' attitude that often exists

Nothing more painful than watching a one sided ODI ......

Get the feeling both sides just going through thro the motions despite how excited Mark Nicholas feels about a forward defensive stroke or a dot ball

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,384 ✭✭✭booth70

It's a pity Ireland got Ind and Pak as their last 2 matches

For the same set of results (win wise) would have been a different story had Ireland got Zim and UAE as their last 2 matches.....

    8 wicket defeat incoming

Was just about to say, the above was a pretty good call at just about 10 overs in...... but before I hit the button, gone.

I'm not going to claim to be an expert on the game, but I think they can return home with heads held high. They have certainly turned on a lot more people to the game over the the last few years, well done Cricket Ireland

Sarfraz really doesnt want this 100.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,917 ✭✭✭BarryD

Ah, just give the chap a friendly full toss to get his century and they can all go home :)

Farcical end to the match with focus on an individual's century than a team win....

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,163 ✭✭✭Shrap

    Dragging it out alright.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 39,640 ✭✭✭✭KevIRL

    All a bit farcical alright

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,905 ✭✭✭Jacovs

Pmsl if he goes for the 6 to end the game and gets caught.

    Nvm, now it can end.

What an idiot, would love to see them smashed in the next round. So disrespectful, play to win not to get a century!

    Do you remember this? :D

Chandimal crawled to a century while matthews was blocking everything when chasing, the Lanka management were going mental especially Dilshan who sent someone out to kill him.:D

England players and KP went mental as well.

Maybe they are going for the draw, just hope you dont bowl a nb or wide. :o

  • Registered Users Posts: 33,758 ✭✭✭✭RobertKK

Thank you Cricket Ireland, for the excitement this world cup.

Well for Ireland anyway. I think we can all be proud. It's been said before but I hope Ireland's performance (and maybe the UAE) change the attitudes on the Associate sides.

    Edit: Afghanistan too.

Hard luck Ireland. Sadly for the average fan that's about it for the next 4 years apart from a few ODI's against Test nations.

Well even Afghanistan and Scotland produced an exciting game between them so there absolutely should be places for the associates, even a couple that aren't on the same level as Ireland.

Might be even longer than that, next world cups will only have the 10 teams.
