Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    If I had Barry Kenny's personal email address (the work one obv), I would send him a link to this thread and ask him to comment here.

    Just like Eircom and Meteor and all the rest who have reps here to answer questions.

    We are going round the houses with this one. We need to find out what exactly the situation is and what IR are going to do about it.

    I guess we will be left waiting a while for some response.

    Meanwhile, any time there is a leaf on the line yer man Kenny is on the airwaves.

    Nothing about taking your seat 20 minutes beforehand though.

    The only point about taking your seat is that you take it prior to departure.

    Quite a difference.

    Right. So they went to the trouble of adding another clause for terminal stations saying you must be there to take your seat 20 minutes before departure; but you don't have to actually take it?
    It's pretty clear that for non-terminal stations, you take your seat before departure. Otherwise you take it 20 minutes beforehand, or whenever the train arrives. They obviously can't say you must take your seat 20 minutes before departure, since the train might not always be there.

    The whole 20 minute thing is a massive red herring anyway - the main point being that IE are incapable of properly honouring their own reservation system.
