Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

1-0 at half time please. Need to reestablish control after half time too. Liverpool will come flying out.

Martin Tyler is a professional. And Neville has proven he can be critical of United and complimentary of Liverpool. No need to gripe about it, they haven't said anything out of the ordinary during the game.

I expect comments on chants, commentators, united bias and refereeing bias to become more prevalent as the game goes on with this scoreline ;)

    Cop on

It's obviously hyperbole, relax the fúck.

    He's been utterly dreadful though.

Really? Think it's a great game to be honest regardless of the score. Away team giving a Huge performance against what many might have expected.

Huge performance? United being solid and certaining playing well capitalising from countless liverpool errors. Only 1 shot each on targets but lallana should be shot for missing that.

This is as bad as Liverpool have been playing but there were warning signs in the uefa cup and Swansea this kinda of performance might be coming.

Liverpool have been utter muck. United doing well though.

Why is Rodgers wasting sterling out wide?

Di Maria must be on for the 2nd half; ridiculous if not.

Sloppy passing and a mistake away from an equaliser.

Utd of old.would.be 3 nil up

Lallana so isolated there, Moreno nowhere to be seen

Well worth our lead. Livwrpool only got into it when we got sloppy.

    Rooney shocking.

I wouldn't change anything just yet! Who would you take off for Di Maria anyway? Everyone playing well except Rooney and he's not going to be taken off..

What a first 30mins or so for United. Liverpool coming back into it a bit after that.

That ball by Herrera for the goal was beautiful.

very good from united apart from 1 or 2 nervy moments.

    Young has done nothing.

Certainly take that first half. Great control of possession, limited liverpool to just that one chance and scored a very nice goal.

Hopefully can hold out for another 45 mins. Pool will have a big period of pressure and hopefully we can see it out.

Rooney needs to get his act together big time. Having a mare.

  • Utd dominated for most of the half
    Deserved lead
We need to keep things tight for the first few minutes of the second half

Lvg needs to scream at Rooney

Allen has to come off, we've got no physicality in midfield at all. Gerrard should come on. Get someone on that right side and take Sturridge or Lallana off so Sterling can go up top. There's no penetration through the middle despite the huge gaps in United's defence.

Based on that first half Sterling can shove his £150 grand & Liverpool take the money.
Liverpool bloody awful, utd deserve the lead

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,509 ✭✭✭✭noodler

I'm going to ignore Nevelle and Tyler and say utd haven't even been that good.

They've been able to pass around a Liverpool team that looks nervous and tired and were ruthless in taking advantage of some disgraceful space left by Sanyo and Moreno.

That's my worry. Utd could easily up it here.

Young is there to help counter Liverpool's danger on that side to help Daley Blind. Di Maria would do less tracking. Football management for beginners

United been worth their lead so far, Liverpool only came into the game in the last 10. Getting Lucas on the pitch would allow Coutinho to get on the ball more, serious changes need to be made.

Turned it on at about 37 minutes in, the standard of football I've seen is unbelievably bad.
At this stage the onus is on liverpool to do something.

lallana very poor also, he's missed a couple of those chances this season.. id throw Stevie on instead of Allen..

He's playing at RWB, can't really blame him if he's way out of position.

Rooney has been the worst player on the pitch and he's on 250k a week.

Bring on Lucas for Lallana and move Hendo out wide. Let Sterling get higher up the pitch and gives us more bite in midfield. We've been very poor.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,477 ✭✭✭✭Knex*

Lucas or Gerrard needed for the 2nd half.

I'd be taking Lallana off too, and putting Sterling forward more, and Markovic rwb

Edit: He's not even on the bench. Jaysus. Nevermind!

Lallana should have scored it was a great chance get Gerrard on for the second half

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,105 ✭✭✭mada999

Agreed if Lucas on the bench get him on...sterling lost on the wing also :(

Sterling is wing back and Can is their RCB, if ever there was a position to be exploited it's there.

As a pool fan you have to put your hand up it was a great pass and great finish. Liverpool wasted an ever better chance with lallana and hendo had an easier pass to put lallana throught that again was very poor. United with all the quality in the first half.

Really hope Liverpool ask some questions in 2nd
