Plenty of teams play on 3G pitches such as Andorra, Moldova, Lithuania, Faroe Islands and many more of the weaker, smaller nations so I don't that being a huge problem for Greenland. As for Greenland I believe they are a potential candiate member for CONCACAF along with Saba, Saint Bathemely, Saint Pierre and Miquelon and Sint Eustatius.

I mean I personally don't know anyone. Anyone who I've spoken to thinks it's daft. It's like Navan having an international team.

They don't even play in Gibraltar. Talk about taking things to extremes to allow a new "nation" in.

Mexico aren't far too strong for CONCACAF though. Even looking at the last three World Cups, they finished top with a much less than perfect record this time around, qualified via the playoffs last time and qualified in second place in 2010. I'd think they'd want to avoid CONMEBOL too as it's arguably the most difficult place to qualify from.

    African qualifying seems harder.

Africa has as many teams as Europe but only 5 spots.

So it works out for this World Cup
UEFA 55 teams 14 spots counting Russia 25% chance to Qualify
CAF 54 teams 5 spots 9% chance to qualify
AFC 46 teams 4.5 spots 9.78% chance to qualify
CONCACAF 35 teams 3.5 spots 10% chance to qualify
OFC 11 teams 0.5 spots 4% chance to qualify
COMMEBOL 10 teams 4.5 spots 45% chance to qualify

Yeah, all those good European teams like England, Croatia, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Russia, and Bosnia-H that got bounced out the group stage the last World Cup to non-UEFA teams.

Shocks happen, but all-in-all it's Europe and South America that matters.

It seems hardly shocking since 7 UEFA teams also exited the group stage in 2010.

If you let as many African teams in as European, loads of them wouldn't just go out in the group, they would be humiliated.

From 1998 to now, the worst African defeat has been equal or less humiliating than the worst European defeat.

You are off your rocker if you think there should be equal allocation among Africa and Europe. 4th or 5th in Africa is roughly on par with 13th in Europe. Probably inferior to be honest.

COMMEBOL 10 teams 4.5 spots 45% chance to qualify

You can't work it out that way. You have to look at the quality of those teams. In CONMEBOL at least one decent team usually gets left behind. Chile are a prime example. Recently very successful in their continental competition but couldn't qualify for the World Cup. The vast majority of teams in CONCACAF are not World Cup quality. In the AFC and the CAF, most teams are poor also. A lot of those who even qualify usually do nothing. UEFA is the toughest place to qualify from but CONMEBOL is not easy as the bulk of teams from there are decent. Even Argentina struggled to qualify this time.

Two late goals from Australia mean it finished 3-1 to Oz. The Socceroos will be at the World Cup next year.

Miles Jedinak, of all players, with a hat trick.

Goal 1 :: Free kick that took a massive deflection of a honduras player, sending the ball the opposite direction away from the keeper who had it covered. The decision that awarded the free kick was soft at best anyways

Goal 2 :: Penalty awarded after a ball that was crossed into the box took an unnatural deflection of 1 honduras player and hit the outstretched arm of another player who couldnt react quickly enough to get his foot in the way of his hand. It was a fantastic penalty though

I missed the other goals :)

Yeah but those are the best African teams. I said what would happen if they sent twice or more the number of teams they do now.

Wouldn't UEFA teams losing 6-0 and 6-1 mean there are too many of them in the World Cup?

Group of Death? I'd go with maybe Brazil, Spain, Egypt, Serbia.
Group of Life? Russia, Peru, Iran, Saudi Arabia.

Can Iran and Saudis be in the same group?

    Surprise package:Denmark or Egypt

It's sh!t we won't be there but can't wait for it anyway.

Nope Iran and Saudi Arabia can not be in the same group.

A group can have a max of 2 European teams but only one country from other confederations per group

There's a quick draw (and tournament) randomiser here. I've done it 10 times and Russia still haven't got out of their group. My last one had Mexico beating Portugal in the final

England Brazil Iceand Morocco. THey got out but then ran into Germany in the knockouts and that was the end of that. Germnay went on to beat Brazil in the final (doesn't say by what score!)

Denmark made it to the quarters, Senegal to the semis.

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

I'll be fascinated to see will Argentina improve with more time with Sampaoli. Their result vs Nigeria was very poor.
I hope to see Torreira & Bentancur in the Uruguay side. They have needed fresh faces for a long, long time.

    that websites fun!

Tried a few more times, mostly Germany, Brazil and England winning for me but I finished up on the below one as it had England going out in the group stages and an unlikely winner, that's cool with me!

Group F: Iran and Panama got through!
    Argentina 4
    England 12
    Iran 34
    Panama 49

Final: Iceland winning it beating Brazil
