Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Any critique of Sanchez???

No because at the very least he'll get back and make tackles. His form has quite clearly dropped over the last month or 2. If I'm honest I thought Ozil has been poor tonight.

Wtf? He's been the best on the pitch. Mind boggling......

It really is becoming embarrassing at this stage. Serious agenda against Ozil, it's like he can't do anything right according to pundits.

Özil had been better than Sanchez this evening

    Agree.

It's because he doesn't look busy and frantic.

    It's amazingly lazy punditry.

I'm watching TV3 praise Welbeck here for goodness sake.

As long as you look fired up, you'll get a pass. If you're English, it's a bonus.

Yes but Scholes was a terrific footballer. He should know better. Ozil has been excellent in the first half by offering for the ball and taking up dangerous positions.

He was a good player- a central midfielder that couldn't tackle...

    Giroud needs a right foot.

Ronaldo, Aguero and Ibra all have very good left feet. They do exist.

And sure looking at just your own team, Cazorla is one of the most two footed players in the world. Hes brilliant off both.

He's (Carzola) not a striker and all mentioned have a preffered foot- as does Giroud

Seems strange wanting arsenal to win but I would prefer extra games for them.

Need to be onto the ref about time wasting....need to make a substitution Coq off Walcott or Ramsey on... I figured out merts problem he can't play the ball into space

Thats becoming a cliche at this stage. He could tackle, very dirty though.
And he got away with not being called dirty as he was such a good player. Maybe because he was english too.

If you can't tackle without fouling you can't tackle

    Scholes talk stops now.

Hate to see Mert out on the right at the half-way line.

Twice now Ozil has lost the ball and stayed sitting on his arse for a couple of seconds to moan , I love him and think he's played really well since coming back from injury but its that kind of **** that the pundits latch onto

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,940 ✭✭✭omega man

    Great save anyway

Wonder will all the people who wanted Chelsea knocked out for playing Defensively want Monaco knocked out to..........

A yellow card because of scholes would be oddly fitting. :p

Monaco playing better in this half. Clearly had a proper talking to at half time.

Sanchez needs to come off Wenger has to see it

I think Sanchez needs to be subbed. He is very ragged and if he keeps tackling like that he'll get a 2nd yellow.

We have an ever so slightly worse chance than either of these teams do of winning the competition from here. ;)

But you failed miserably in the group stages then unceremoniously Dumped out if the Europa

Best spell of the match for Monaco. Arsenal a little penned back and disjointed for the first time.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,084 ✭✭✭✭Kirby

Would you two stop bickering please?

This is a match thread. Most of us want to discuss the match....not play "Who is the biggest team."

Arsenal started this game at 80/1

It's past the group stages so you can't get odds on Liverpool anymore.

Yep, those are the facts alright. Doesn't invalidate what I said though.

Thought Sanchez would have been the sub...next foul and he could be gone.

Not the same. Monaco are supposed to be the underdog here.
