Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

VW PASSAT 1.9 diesel or 1.6 Petrol

    I am currently looking to buy a 2007 or 2008 VW Passat and have around 8000 to spend on it.

    I am unsure wether to buy a 1.6 petrol or 1.9 diesel. Obviously am looking to save cost on fuel however I don't do much long distance driving but I am still curious wether it would be better to still go for the diesel ?

    Anyone else have previous experience with this ?

    Plenty of people telling me to go with the diesel however I am not too knowledgeable when it comes to cars so am just looking for advice here !

    1.6 Petrol. Diesel doesn't make it worth unless you have huge miles. And you get better specs/options or lower mileage with petrol as everyone's trying to buy diesel.

    Unless there's a known problem with the specific engines which I wouldn't have a clue about.
