    I did cheers ciaburkie.

Thinking now to buy either the dvd lens cleaner or new dvd drive.

Dvd drives are around 40 euro but require a bit of soldering to install.

    Anyone any advice?

Just found out my little bro put lip balm on one of the games, trying to fix it.

    Would this destroy the lens?

It has possibly contaminated the lens alright. You'll need to dismantle the console & dvd drive to properly clean that off. I don't think a disc cleaner will do the job given the nature of lip balm, it'd be worth a try though :)

Also, don't power the console on while the dvd drive is disconnected...it'll flag the console for a potential ban from MS Live

    All working now.

Opened up, cleaned lens and put it back together.
