i'm no doctor, nor have i played one on tv.....

but i would have thought it was much too soon for anything like this.

with all respect to either physios or TMWTT, did any doctor back up this approach? they are trying to sort muscular pain, when perhaps a more overall thought process is needed

Went to work. Left after an or so hour in a taxi. Home, slept for a few hours, going to doctors at 16.15

Doctor sent me to A&E. They wanted me to have an MRI. Just had that. Now wait for results.

    How long will that take?

Results are clear. No spine damage or bleeds. Given my fathers history with aneurysms a crippling headache is something that concerns me at the best of time.

Its the after effects of concussion and muscle, tendon and ligament damage. Doesn't look like anything overly sinister.

Good to hear, glad everything seems to be ok. Now remember the advice you gave me when I broke my wrist, body is in shock and has been through something traumatic (my wrist break wasn't half as bad as your accident), give yourself time to get back into it. Will do yourself no favours rushing back.

Glad to hear it's nothing serious, you haven't had an easy time of it the last few years, hopefully this is your last bit of bad luck.

It certainly cost more than a normal finishers one!

glad to hear nothing hidden going on

the only improvement JB could have made to the barca tshirt was to put "do as i preach not as i do" on the back

know you ideally need to cycle to commute, but ffs stop trying to get on the bike and given the body a chance. endure public transport for a while if you have to, make the bus drivers work for their increases

Not sure they got enough of an increase to justify having to put up with Dave ;)

Physio this morning. Appears nerve damage in my right arm. Need to up my drugs and change them, so back to the doctors.

Also trying a few hours in work today, very hard to type and use a mouse. :(

How are you feeling now Dave?

Still very sore. Back and neck still wrecked despite twice weekly sessions on it. Energy levels through the floor. Cannot sleep. Nervous in cars and pins & needles in my right hand most of the time.

    In short I've felt better!

So in with a Consultant today, specialises in soft tissue damage. Short of it is the symptoms I have are nothing overly sinister. Consistent with the crash and impact and in 12-18 months time all will be gone, and in 3-4 months I should be mostly myself. Ah well.........

I guess that's good... still ****ty that you're still not in a great place though, sorry to hear. Have you started planning your races in 12-18 months time? :)

What about swimming, can you do that?

    (alltogethernow..."well he couldn't before")

Good that there's nothing lasting though, hopefully you get a good recovery and back training soon.

    So a few months on.........

My upper back is improving, my mid back is improving. Both are still not right.
    My lower back is ****ed.
My neck is very sore and causes head aches.
My right bicep is always sore.
My right hand still has pins and needles in it.

Would be nice to think I'll get back training and racing, but it may be one obstacle too many.

Sh!t sorry to hear Tunney. Hope you mend well. I smashed my shoulder and basically missed 6 months of anything. I was miserable but took to the rehab and the progress was re-assuring. I got to a point where I deleted all records and pushed a restart button. You will get there, you are too driven not to..

Goal is to be down a stone by end of feb for a wedding.

What is the plan here? Personally I find... training properly and losing weight at the same time is hard. While watching calories and easy cycle/run seems more sustainable for weight loss.

    Yeah well that didn't happen.

Still lots of neck pain. Right arm still fecked. 6 months on and still in a jock. Ah well..........

Centre snorkel for your neck will help.

I missed the studies linking neck pain and fecked arms with weight gain...

Still a better faster swimmer than me all the same! :(

    Seven months on............

12-18 months had been mentioned, and dismissed by me, in terms of a total recovery.

There is a reason these people had the title "Dr." (or "Mr" for the consultant) and I don't. Feck it.

Eight months and a day after the accident.
Cannot sleep still due to the pain, back, neck and arm in a jock. Cannot do much, in constant pain, for FVCKS SAKE

FVck sake, really sorry to hear that it's not going well. Did anything happen legally out of the crash?
