Amazing view of it over UCD. It being cloudy is perfect as you can actually look at it.

I remember the one in 1999 which was a bright and beautiful day so you couldn't really look at it.

Gotta be honest, this is pretty sh*t.

Well, I expect total apocalyptic power grid meltdown myself, people rushing out in panic on the streets and a few planes falling from the sky. Eclipses aren't like they used to be in the olden day.

    What were you expecting?

I was expecting darkness to descend here in Naas. All that seems to have happened is it got slightly more gloomy than normal.
Glad I didn't take up that offer last month of importing 5,000 pairs of eclipse glasses from China. It's a long time to wait til 2026 for the next one.

Stupid cunt birds thought it was time to roost. Motherfucking morons.

Lovely clear skies over Cork. I used a pinhole in a sheet of paper to project the image but still glanced up at the Sun briefly because I'm a defiant idiot.

What's the big ****ing deal, we can't see the sun most of time anyway, what difference if its the moon blocking it instead of clouds, buildings or planet ****ing earth...!!!???

And if a crescent sun is so amazing why don't people lose their **** over a crescent moon most nights of the week...?!

    /rant

It wasn't a total eclipse over Ireland! Must laugh at anyone who expected it to get dark. :D

I got a great look at it earlier when the sky was only patchy cloud. I had to use the welding glass, but got a great, clear view of it.

In my day we'd all be dead now.

Absolute morons who think this is an anti climax.

    Absolute morons really ????

I'm sure if even Prof. Brian Cox was in a cloudy area he would call it anti climatic.

if by eclipse they mean blocking out the sun. Then I would suppose we get solar eclipses a lot here in ireland with all the crappy weather. We don't see the sun a good amount of the time.

Just another full day here in finglas/ballymun,the birds where acting strange alright... My one even made me breakfast :pac:
The one back in '99 was much better, didn't go dark but everything looked kinda weird.

Well, that was disappointing. A bastard layer of cirrus meant that the sun was its usual ball of blinding white, with the crescent only discernible in the afterflashes burned into one's retina. It got a little darker.

2/10 Would not watch again unless it was an excuse to avoid work.

The live feeds look amazing though - some quality photoshopping going on there...

My hens got a bit confused for 10 minutes. They started getting off the ground and roosting, even though they'd just come out of the hen house a few hours before! Other than that, just looked like a dull overcast day, with a weirdly blue sky to me....good seeing the sickle effect though.
