Suggested places for family stay over Easter Weekend

Hello. We are looking for somewhere close to Galway City to stay over Easter weekend. Other than Salthill, I have no knowledge of the best places to rent a holiday home so would appreciate any advice. We would like to get into the City centre at least one night so would like our base to be only a short cab ride in and out. Other than that we just need a large house and it would be good if there are a few pubs and restaurants nearby on the nights we don't go into Galway City. We are a family of 8 including 1 small child and we are treating our parents to the weekend for their Golden Wedding Anniversary so want to make this as special as possible. Thank you.

If you want to be within taxi range from the city I suppose Barna would be best or possibly Spiddal http://www.spiddalhh.com/

You should have a look at the Connaught Hotel in Galway, close to the city aswell. They have apartments adjoined to the hotel which could be of some interest for you.
