Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Happened me bfore twice.

Earlier time when i was about 19,it was my birthday and i got home ,opened the door and went straight to bed.Taxi man rang the bell about 10 times got my old man up and he end up paying for it.I woudl have rathered dealing with the cops than the angry old lad.

Second time,i just went down with the cash and a few quid extra.Be all apologetic and ask for the taxi mans number saying you want to sincerely apologise for the trouble you caused and you got so drunk cos your cat/dog died and you coudlnt handle it.

That will be the end of it.

Back in my day we used to have to fellate taxi drivers use that Hailo App if we didn't have cash on us for a lift home.

I used to invariably spend the end of my cash on shots at last orders so got really good at fellatio using the Hailo App. There wasn't a weekend that went by where you wouldn't find me fellating some fat taxi man using the Hailo App down a laneway or in the driveway of my parents house.

Turns out I rather enjoy the Hailo App giving blowjobs.

I would assume it would go to the small claims court, Taxis are private businesses one could look at it as theft but I highly doubt it would ever be charged that way.

Kill the taxi man. No taxi man. No problem.

Make sure you give a tip, you've messed him around and he was quite reasonable it seems. I'm sure nothing will come of it once you've paid and said sorry.
How come the o.p. hasn't responded since his first post? Did he get banged up?

You are a bit of a knobhead for getting into a taxi if you didn't have money to pay for it.

    .

I'd imagine he just didn't notice he had no money, if you are drunk enough it's not impossible to forget you spent all your money.

That's what I used to say all the time.

"Oh I'm so drunk. I didn't even realise I have no money left!"
    *WINK*
"Guess I'll just have to use my Hailo App again" *unzip* *slurp* *slurp* *slurp*

Better advice would be learn to control your drinking habits and none of this shíte would have came about..

Ah man! If you'd be around to give me that advice when I was young I would have saved a fortune on mouthwash.

Ask him to stop at an ATM on the way ?

Why can't you pay by card here ?

    Something like this for example:

The old 'stop at an atm' trick is something most taxi drivers are very weary of.

I genuinely was asked by a taxi driver once to leave my phone with him when he had no change of a fifty and I had to go into a shop and get change.

Become a Taxi driver, after the initiation you can challenge him to tribal combat, but if you loose you'll be banished and shunned.

Got a taxi from town last night. Was well on and didn't have any money to pay it. He took me to the station and the guards asked me a fair few questions from what i remember and gave me a piece of paper with the gardas name on it aswell as telling me to bring 25 euro to the station (for the taxi) by a certain day.

Is there anything that can come of this or do I just pay the money and that's that?

I presume something like this would happen often enough to be honest.

He took home safely, knowing you didn't have the money on you at the time...that's good service.

Just pay up and be done with it.

I got a taxi into town years ago, middle of the day. The taxi driver said he had to stop off and get some juice. I though he was talking about petrol or diesel. He pulled into a forecourt, got our of the car and went into the shop. came out with crisps and a fruit juice.

Meter was still running, i didn't care. Journey was being paid for by work.

I'd have driven you back into town if I was the taxi driver. Good enough for ya.

I had friends who used to do that to non payers.
They used to charge them for the return trip to town as well or if they knew them take something as collatoral.

I did read it...probably best if you don't jump to conclusions and get smart about it.

I stand by my point....if the OP didn't want to end up on the wrong side of the Gardai, which in any case he probably won't if he just pays what's due, then he shouldn't have ordered a taxi he knew he couldn't pay for.

So why did you say "Just pay up and be done with it" after the OP had come back saying he had done exactly that?

Then also whats with the bolded part? He has paid !
