Howdy. I have a WDTV Live connected to the router via ethernet cable and an external harddrive by USB.

On my old laptop I could find the device under 'network' and drag and drop files to the hard drive.

I've just got a new Windows 8.1 laptop and it doesn't show up under network. How do I find it/add it?

The laptop only has 128SSD so it would be good to be able to use the external harddrive on the network for extra space.

Manually map the drive using its IP address?

    IE: \\IP_Address\folder_name

In the run box? Thought Windows 8 doesn't have one?

File Explorer -> This PC -> File -> Map Network Drive
