Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hoping to see Reddan early in the second half.

Murray does everything excellently but he does it at half pace compared to Reddan. Decisive factor to expose their soft defence.

10 point lead at half time...i would have taken that if offered at kick off!

I'm happy enough all told with the first half. Two tries to the good, Sexton is in control of the game and kicking well and there is far more to come from Ireland later in the game.

Our only main problem is that we are playing a little too frenetically and thus causing a few unforced errors and turning over ball in open play. I'm not worried about Scotland getting possession, mind. All season they have had oodles of possession yet they have shown no obvious set pieces in attack or general ability to use the ball bar "Give it to Hogg/Finn and see what happens".

Their try was good but it owed more to luck than it did to tactical awareness. Give Scotland till about 65 minutes and they will fade out; earlier if we turn the corkscrew tightly and they capitulate.

Scotland arent there for target practise. It was actually a well worked try from them.

It came from a messed lineup and Kearney fumble. Very avoidable.

I'd prefer if we just get back on top and (at least)maintain the current gap for the first 10 mins or so

I think we'll regret that ridiculous try we conceded.

Yeah, because normally we're happy to concede them.

    Right call

    Take the 3.

We look like we're able to punish them, some nice controlled phase play there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,248 ✭✭✭✭BoJack Horseman

Every phase, so slow & pedestrian.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,706 ✭✭✭clsmooth

We seem to struggle from 5 metres out for whatever reason

Should be a warning for Scotland there.

Right decision. Tempting to go after them in the scrum though

It came from 2 unforced errors. It wouldn't have been as bad if it came from good Scottish play.

    +13 again. Thank you Jonathan!

Just keep steadily building. The bench should be able to finish them off.

They always play between the posts in important moments instead of playing outfield even when they have men outwide.

Condensed pitch + slow ball will always lead to this

This Irish team is so talented. Probably the best we've ever had, aside from BOD retiring. Yet Schmidt insisted on a very basic and uninspiring plan.

Another Coach with more courage would have had this team playing to their full potential long before now.

The players are showing it now to some degree. Who made that decision? The autobiographies will tell all.

Scotland more to blame than the SH I think to be fair

Have to go wide at right moment, risk being isolated, people at bottom of ruck, etc

Henshaw can run with ball in hand. You'd never have thought that over the last 12 months.
