Can anyone recommend tree varieties that grow quickly or can be bought already big enough for kids to climb?

I doubt any tree would be suitable, even quick growing might not be strong enough to climb even in ten years.

How old are the kids now ?

I would Build a Climbing Frame for them, you can extend and alter as they grow. and you have less worries of broken Limbs ... And I'd be more worried for the tree Limbs BTW. ;-)
