How are the irish fans celebrating ffs just shows how low this team has gone we are still crap and would be better off away from the euros and not make an utter ass of ourselves like the last time

We equalised with an injury-time goal. Fans tend to celebrate that sort of thing.

What do we ideally need from the remaining games with GER/SCO/POL? Draw with Germany? Beat Scotland? Draw with Poland again.

    Wes Houlihan was brilliant...

    I agree with Liam

    I think your overrating us.

It's true though, based on the evidence of the game. We were all over Poland in the second half, created chances and hit the post a few times.

We need to cross the ball better though..

McCarthy is very disappointing to be honest I think he can do much better but he comes across like he doesn't have the belief in his ability. he should be trying to run games like this but goes missing too much

It's O Neill. You know more than anyone what he's like!

Yep. For the next 3 months people will say "he'll definitely have learned a lesson from that second half" before he goes out with a similarly negative lineup and approach for the Scotland game.

    Dunphy talking sh*t as usual.

    'Wes Hoolahan was brilliant.'

    Bloody hell.

Is Wes Hoolahan related to Dunphy?

Heart is back in the team.

Exactly and at least there is a bit of energy and commitment about us. And there is bite in us too. If we fail with MON then so be it. At least we won't be dying in a straight jacket like we were

The boys must have a buster on how many time they can mention Hoolahan.

My money is on the 85 time theyll mention Hoolahan.

Didn't see anything wrong with it, the guys went in fairly - but yeah, usually breathing on a keeper is enough to concede a free kick so it was a surprise

Not much wrong with most of them, but they are given almost every time.

Eamo needs to shut up waxing lyrical about Wes

I will be very surprised if we get those results. We simply can't beat teams ranked higher than us. Can't see us beating Scotland and that will end the campaign.

Long should quit until Given and Robbie are axed.

With Long starting in what was a physical game things would have ran differently, Forde would have stopped the goal too.

Ole ole ole , gimps celebrating a draw at home . Wow.

    Don't understand this at all.

    Ireland FIFA ranking 66th

Poland on what? 7, 8 game unbeaten run, defensively brilliant at the moment keeping 3 clean sheets in 4 games, and favourites coming into the game.

But our fans shouldn't celebrate a crucial point against the top team in our group. Why? I think a lot of people need to remind themselves that we are an average team and should be happy when we come out with a good result.

    You omitted starting Given

I really don't understand why many seem to think he's Ireland's answer to Lionel Messi. It's very strange. Similarly Jack Grealish has played about 10 minutes worth of football as a substitute in the Premier League and is hailed as the next great hope.

I honestly think Darragh could probably give a better insight than these three.

I wonder will it be highlighted on RTE if Hoolahan has a mare against Scotland. It's embarrassing how overboard they're going.

At one point in the 'fantastic' second half Hoolahan got caught in possession and then got nutmegged trying to get it back.

Rugby, GAA, Horse Racing, Athletics - RTE are world class at producing....at soccer I find myself repeatedly using the word 'embarrassing'
