It is ridiculous and unnecessary for sure but Maggie Siff in that get up is stirring up some thoughts in me I must say.

Yeah I don't really remember the intricacies of the juice thing to be honest.

The juice plot was brilliant, would really recommend watching that episode again if you missed it, when he sat on the bed crying and then started laughing at the end it was a great moment.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,758 ✭✭✭Pelvis

Oh I remember the gist of it, it was all a grand plan etc etc.. I just don't remember the intricacies.

    Got halfway through ep 2

Wendys role doesn't make a lot of sense

Married to Chuck and working for axel ,its implausible

  • Registered Users Posts: 557 ✭✭✭Walter Bishop

It certainly is, and like the many other implausible things in Billions it's not distracting from my enjoyment of it one bit.

I dunno, it feels like there's a disparity between how Billions is marketed vs. what kind of show it actually is. There's a sense that promos are angling it as another high-concept, 'worthy', Peak TV drama - and given its budget & the talent in-front of & behind the lens that's not without justification - but in reality, it's a knowingly ludicrous, bombastic opera that flirts with reality rather than adheres to it.

No idea how it's marketed as never watch promos but each episode is soapy as hell and more than half over the top, I mean how anyone could try and take it seriously after the 'heaving his seed' line, I do not know :)

That episode was a bit all over the place. Axe is acting so totally irrationally, it's hard to see how he realistically makes it out of this. I know he will... but it's getting a bit meh.

Thought it was the best episode of the season.

That last scene was very good but I think he has become a bit of a caricature and is overegging his alpha male trader characterisation.

Disappointing episode overall, losing some of it's impetus.

I thought it was a great episode, some great character development for peripheral characters while keeping the mail arcs going.

Is anyone still really think this show is intelligent television? It's basically Dallas meets Law and Order, utter throwaway garbage but still very watchable.

Its made up telly stuff so I don't really care about it that much.

You are who you are and it doesn't bother me in the slightest but sure let her put a label on herself whatever that may be!

Bobby's ninjas should get their own show.

So has the inmate killing the prison guard storyline just been forgotten about?

what way do people think this is going to end up? i would like to see axe win/walk away with something at the end but i have a feeling that is not going to happen. i have been rooting for Axe all along and i am not fond of the Chuck character. however i am sue that there are people who do not like axe and are fighting for Chuck. however i think that Axe is portraying the bad side of capitalism while chuck is portraying the bad side of public service and in the end they will be loose everything and will be brought down by their respective protegees - on chucks side connerty and axe by taylor. i believe that the taylor and connerty characters reflect the type of person that axe and chuck should be but are not.

I think they are going to continue the whole anti-hero route, neither Axe or Chuck are clearly the "goodie" or "baddie" so they'll keep them playing, I do however think the show has an extremely short shelf life, once this suit is over it's hard to see how Axe and Chuck can both keep their jobs.

    I hope they both lose.

Connerty is the only character I'd like to see end up "winning".

Fcuk knows where the story can go at this stage.

4th season will inevitably be the court case. Will probably see both go down, so will be a lot of Axe going directly for Chuck next season. Love the show!

Wendy talked tonight about axe and chuck getting on quite well when they first met, with a lot of respect for each other.
Imagine a future storyline where they have to work together to get out of a jam. Unlikely I know but still a reference to the two of them sitting down together, maybe??

Anyone else feel like kicking their television screen any time Chuck is on it? Can't stand the man.

I really liked the "twist" at the end of that episode, I was thinking "oh great, Chuck is going to be fighting with the Wendy, Axel is going to be all "I invited you into my home and this is how you repaid me" blah de blah", having them work together is a great change of direction that I'm looking forward to seeing play out.

He was putting notice that a warrant might be needed, setting up the fact that Chuck was always going to set Axel up until the last second where he had a change of mind.

I wonder if Chuck might end up making Axe help him as regards furthering his political ambitions as part of the price he pays?

It opens up a whole new range of possibilities, if Axe and Chuck go together in the election there'll probably be conflict between Axe and Chuck's helper/mentor

I think it was more a case of both being backed into a corner and knowing they need each other, I don't see it as coariale more a necessary evil for both, can't wait to see it play out as to who becomes the Alpha

    Absolutely brilliant episode.
I’m waiting for the twist/double cross though.
Will Chuck really give away the one piece of evidence that could send Axe down?
