Just starting out in astrophotography and with my recent solar filter purchase i was able to do this today. Focussing the camera is surprisingly difficult. It was taken on an eos 20D through a bresser R-102 f/10 on an eq-5 mount. Seymour solar filter also used. No barlows used either.

That's deadly!

Focus takes a bit of practice, especially if its single speed focuser.

That said, its a great image

I wonder if i could retrofit a dual speed focuser. Or diy one up.....hmm....i have research to do!

Helical focusers seem to be a cost effective solution. Some of the dual speed focusers assumed i had very deep pockets!
