Just had a letter from I.W. & at the end of the page it says
" As part of your rights, you are entitled to a refund from your bank under the terms and conditions of your agreement with your bank etc "
What is this about? How does it work?

    Hi Help!!!!

Thanks for contacting us on Boards.

We're not familiar with the letter you received.

Is it in relation to goods or services purchased with a Bank of Ireland debit or credit card?

    Thanks

    Billy

    Hi Help!!!!,

Thank you for coming back to us.

We are still unsure of the exact nature of this letter however,  if this in relation to a SEPA Direct Debit on your current account, you can avail of several SEPA Direct Debit services and one of these would include a 'Refund Direct Debit Payment' request.

For more information on SEPA Direct Debit services please see here on our website.

If you require further clarification on the phrase used in this letter perhaps the sender can assist further.

    Thanks,
    Elaine

It is a legal requirement to be printed on all the SEPA direct Debit Mandates.

Fill in this form for a refund: https://personalbanking.bankofireland.com/fs/doc/wysiwyg/b22421-mss130675-sepa-dd-refund-form-interactive-nov13.pdf

When is the money (including lost growth) Michael Noonan took in the Pension Levy going to be paid back?

So its only if you don't want the direct debit to go through? You can ask for a refund?
