Old apartment with a fusebox with about 10 switches. Resident only uses electricity for a few hours each night. Would switching off this fusebox completely before going to bed and switching it back on the following night for a few hours save much money or would it be better to leave it switched on all the time?

It would be best to leave it on. If you are concerned about it get it checked over by a registered electrical contractor.

Id leave it on full time.

Switching it off will likely cause based habits of leaving items on, and depending on the ritual of switching the main switch off to switch the items off.

Much better to make sure all items are off, but leave main switch on. Might be things like alarms too.

Fuseboard don't use up electricity so as long as everything is switched off then no electricity will be used. Don't they own a fridge? It would be really bad to turn that off every night.
