Really nice spot to have, nice to see a TV in there too.

Apartment is way too bland for me! Be afraid to put a cup down in there..

Late to this & can't read the whole thread from last year!
I was wondering, what are the criteria? Every episode has very random completely different homes?

Would it not make more sense to have like for like versus each other, then the winners of each ' type' go into a final?
I presume they just cut the programme any which way & put different places in together, but it just doesn't make much sense to me.

White and wood, white and wood is all I saw there..
First house was not exactly my style but there was something quirky about it I liked and I loved the bathroom.

More colour from the art. But so much white :(

    Correct house won out.

What was that beast thing at the end?

Wow they were all kinda bad. But for me the winning one was worst. I must have no taste.

Again it is home of the year. I thought the cottage was a good starter home although that Moroccan theme in the shower is a bit cheapo cheapo .The others were a bit bland.

    Me neither then! :o

Didn't agree with the most of the comments from the judges. Would not liked to have lived in any of those house. The extension on the last house was done beautifully with the garden outside, and big windows but I didn't particularly like the style of the house, kitchen etc. And all that art was too much for me. Again no taste probably

I wasn't blown away by any of the houses last night. They all had nice elements but nothing to inspire house envy in me!
Anyone know where in Clare the house that won is?

The Dublin houses tend to end up like silk purses etc......... Not to be too critical but remodelling will always have its limits.
I note the credits at the end show the home of Jane Burnside in the 'North'. She has written a good book called 'contemporary design secrets - mainly about building her own house. Worth a look.

Not a fan of this. Looks like an art piece more than a home. Doesn't even look lived in.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,719 ✭✭✭jluv

I can appreciate how great it is but it didnt have the feeling of a "home"

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,719 ✭✭✭jluv

    See this is my style..

This one feels a lot less sterile than the last one. Don't love the kitchen, but a lot of character.

I must say I had stopped watching because I found the houses boring and devoid of personality. This week seems a bit more interesting though. The houses are far from perfect but they are homes where someone loves to live.

Wow!! The third house is incredible!!

Wow!! The third house is incredible!!

The living room is so huge it reminds me of a train station somehow, it must be so echo-y!

Fab house - worthy winner this week. Wonder where it is?

    Only catching up now....

Home No. 1 - would give me a headache! Too much stuff. And that crap about the flowers and the matching candle - puh-lease!!!

Home No. 2 - meh... gorgeous idea, utterly fabulous setting but just left me a bit cold, can't quite put my finger on why. But oh, the views out all those windows!

House No. 3 - holy God, the size of it! Where on earth is it? Anyone know?? What an A-MAZ-ING hallway.... I so covet an enormous hall, always have, and a wraparound staircase - God, I'm jealous!

Very unusual dining table.... how would you clean up the crumbs  But how does Declan know they use the table on a daily basis

Ah here how... the shoes hung on the chair... really??

Bet no. 3 will get it.
