Wardrobe update for summer

I'm looking for some advice please, I'm heading to Paris and Eurodisney for a week in the Summer. I really need to update my wardrobe, but I'm struggling what to get.

I'm in my 40's, 5ft 7 and 14-16 (hopefully 12-14 by summer!). Everywhere I look, everything seems very short and flimsy or mumsy.

I don't want to look like I'm a teenager, but equally I don't want to be old fashioned. I've been a student for the last 7 years, so haven't been able to afford to update my wardrobe. But it desperately needs doing!!

Where do I start looking, and what should I be considering for basics.

What are you comfy in usually?

I'd recommend you check out this blog - I get a lot of ideas from her - some of the stuff she wears is out of my budget but she shows lots of alternatives!

    Like me so. :)

Well, on cooler days you could swap the jeans for a pair of airy trousers, a vest top instead of the top and a light cardi on top, and still feel like you. That way you still have the layers to adjust for variable temperatures from morning to midday to later afternoon. Maybe some lighter cargo style pants or cropped trousers if those kind of styles appeal to you?

I've recently discovered maxi-dresses, and love them in summer. Though going on rides they may not be the most practical - still, if you packed one it could do for a dressier meal out but still comfortable enough.

I like Cos for casual pieces which are a bit dressier. They have some lovely dresses and skirts at the moment, flattering but not overly girly.
