Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

last night's wind direction helped make it very tough. a block headwind and no recovery until the finishing straight.

there's a massive difference improvement in you RAS lads to last year - i'm glad it's showing, for the work you've done. hope it's plain sailing now for the next month and you all keep injury free.

the young fella was smart last night though, picked the right man to follow at the right time!

With the prevailing south westerly, doing Corkagh clockwise is very tough because you have to fight the wind on the straight, but then you can't fully capitalise on it through the winding north section.

In the anticlockwise direction the prevailing wind pushes you along both the front straight and the relatively straight (and downhill) east section.

last night was east south east so the wind was effectively a cross wind for almost all the course except a block headwind out of the bottom corner. There was no shelter down into the lowest point as everyone was in a single line into the corner so we got a full cross wind on the right shoulder then turning "uphill" into the headwind and back to a slightly sheltered crosswind at the top of the course onto the clockwise finishing straight with a slight cross tailwind. an honest race !

Never ridden the course in that direction prior to last night, and never had anything other than SW winds either, so it was interesting seeing how big an effect those apparently minor changes had on how the race panned out.

The first corner after the start finish is definitely a no-brakes corner though some people never seemed to really commit. The bit of tarmac you'll be on as you exit is slightly out of sight as you approach the corner though so it's a bit of an act of faith to tip it in. After the first lap or two you should know it's there though. Then the headwind across the wiggly bit at the bottom of the course really softened people up so there was always the moves going on the next straight. The finish had a fair ol' tailwind on it too which meant I got the gearing wrong for the sprint. Not that I had the legs to go over the young fella anyway.

Well, this has been a bit quiet lately.

Tonight saw the first road race of the league this year. While at the start the clouds looked a bit ominous the rain stayed away and it was a great night for racing. Even though no catches were made by any of the chasing groups the action itself was very enjoyable. We event went for a finish gallop just for the giggles at the end.

Anyone has heard any comments from the garda who was supposed to come out and have a look at us?

    Small lakes course?

Yes, was three laps of the small lake with the start at Blue Gardenia and finish was moved past the sharp left hand turn.
