    I want to say in Irish 'they were talking about the holidays'. Do I say 'bhi siad ag caint faoin/faoi na laethanta saoire'. I know faoin means 'about the', so I presume it's faoin?? Thanks for your help! ;)

    Faoin = singular.
    Faoin na = plural.

    In this case, as laethanta saoire is plural (lá => laethanta) you'll need to use "faoi na".

    My gramadach has faoi + na = faoi na in the plural. Is thisba dialectal variant?

    faoi + an = faoin
    faoi + na = faoi na
    faoi + a = faoina (or possibly spelt 'faoin a')

    Sorry, typo! Meant to write faoi na.
