That seems crazy - I think the camp has been off all week, so surely Joe would have given the info at the start of the week?

Still, the new regime remains in a state of flux. Girvan Dempsey has adopted a dual role in charge of the Academy (which comes with Leinster A coaching duties) and first-team backs coach.

With so many bodies on international duty, the Academy players are working in close proximity to the senior squad, so it’s manageable in the short term.

An appointment is expected after the World Cup.

Richie Murphy, skills and kicking coach, is also assisting Joe Schmidt’s World Cup preparations. The currently unemployed Carlos Spencer has been mentioned, along with Leo Crowley, whose brother Kieran is coach of Canada, who Ireland play on September 19th.

That's a potential Pro 12 backline. Although I don't think we'll see Adam Byrne remain at 11 long, I guess McFadden is still to return.

I only saw Adam Byrne play once in the RDS and also in Belvedere for the under 19's - I thought he was very exciting - I hope he is over his injuries and that we see a bit more of him now.

Hopefully Mick McGrath is on the bench and will save the day with 20 tries in the 2nd half.

Indeed we are but that's mainly because we're using the game as a pre-season run out for our fringe players whilst Ulster are using it as their RWC final.

Ulster will be down to 12 men shortly after half time. We'll easily catch them up after that.

I reckon we'll probably end up about 30 points down at half time, but Ulster are generally unable to keep players on the field, so by the end of the 2nd half they'll probably have had half their squad sent off which should see us home.
