I'd say they are waiting on word on SOB as well. He was seeing a specialist today and Leinster were "hopeful". But we all know what that really means.

There's no actual photo's of O'Brien training, and Healy is in France for the hearing

    Healy banned for 2 weeks.

    Healy banned for 2 weeks.

So he'll be back for the Connacht game.. not bad considering....

Got off lightly enough. Please let that be the last of the silly bans, and he might learn the lesson.

Unless his form has improved vastly in the last 2 games he's not much of a loss.

So having McGrath/Bent isnt much worse than Healy/McGrath, seriously?

Healy's been useless since he returned from injury. He shouldn't have been starting most of the matches he has. In my opinion.

I thought he was much better on Sunday tbh, bar the knee obviously.

Healy is playing a lot better than is made out. It's just he isn't back to where he was and suddenly he is muck. If Bent was putting in similar shifts his name would be teabagged all over the forum.

It's still a big loss for the 20 minutes off the bench he will miss this weekend.

Charge of "striking" was downgraded to "dangerous charge", hence light enough ban.

He's a loss. McGrath should have been starting but I'd rather Healy coming on than Dooley or Bent

Out of interest - has the Furlong Loosehead experiment come to an end. I'm not sure how much was invested in it to begin with - but that was his role in the WC right?

I thought he was way better on Sunday, and Bent is quite a step down. I just hope he has finally learned his lesson. He has been lucky enough to get away with to weeks IMO.

Was there even one to begin with? He was covering both sides in the world cup but I wouldn't say there was any experiment to convert him

Yeah I'm really not sure to be honest, and realistically would he want to switch, Ross is near retirement so he has a better chance of breaking through at Tighthead at Leinster.

Yawn! He may not be back to his dynamic ball carrying best but calling him useless just makes you seem a little bit silly.
Did you watch the game on Sunday? He showed massive improvement and a good level of physicality in defence.

He certainly did training as a loosehead during the RWC. I remember an interview with Mike Ross at the time where he mentioned it.

What? He's tackled McFadden, released very quickly (in comparison to us even) and then rolled away. He's doing nothing wrong there.
He has broken no laws of the game there. None.

 You've never seen someone pinged for falling/rolling onto the wrong side of the ruck? I can think of a million examples, the one that's standing out in my head in POC against Wales in Cardiff 2015 6N.

He was never part of the ruck and he was moving away when Healy arrived. He was not breaking the rules.

But it just doesn't matter. Healy shouldn't have done what he did. That's the important thing.

Has anyone ever been cited for one thing and banned for something else?

I was at a work thing today at the aviva Leinster were doing a training session ,I spent my lunch watching Johnny and Madigan practising their kicking .Johnny was great but Madigan was unbelievable he must have hit 30 in a row I will be gutted if Leinster let him go

Had to laugh at the "johnnys just settling back in" line from Leo and parroted by the press pack on Newstalk on the way home there. He was ordinary for Racing for the past two years and pretty ordinary for Ireland for the past two years(barring maybe 5 or less games where he raised it).
Meanwhile Dan carter with a weeks training slots into Racing and tears Northampton a new one. Madigan has had dogs abuse the past three years if he put a pinky wrong, Sexton hasnt reached the standard he set and that his wages dictate for over two years and its not called out. Far more then Leo or any other player Sexton has to step up and deliver, world class players have to bring it week in week out, no excuses.

Not sure how many Racing games you watched in the last two years, but Sexton was not ordinary in any of the games I watched. He had a great relationship with the backs and used crossfield kicks to great effect with Marc Andreu.

He was instrumental in gaining territory for them in his kicking and his own breaks. Some of the sh1te being talked about his time there is just that; sh1te.

Looking at that video, I'm not seeing anything special from Carter. He missed a kick at goal and a couple of tackles too. There's an aura about Carter (that he richly deserves btw) that he can do no wrong, even when he is not having his best day.

Sexton was absolutely fantastic in the 2014 6 Nations. He then did exactly what he was asked to do in the 2015 6 Nations having been out of the game for months. He then looked to be coming back into top form in the RWC until the injury.

The lengths people will go to knock others is mad.....

You don't have to be part of the ruck to be on the wrong side. Owens pings players for falling off tackles onto the wrong side all the time.

It's still pertinent. Healy didn't do anything wrong in my mind. He's shoving a player who shouldn't be there. Happens all the time.

Absolutely. It was laughable that carter got motm for that game. Dulin should've got it IMO.

If you're on the wrong side, you get out of the way and that's what Guirado was doing. Even if he wasn't, and this is the only bit that matters, there is absolutely no interpretation of the rules that allows Healy to make contact with Guirado at that point.

He had rolled away and was getting up and leaving the contact area. He did everything expected of him, wasn't really close to getting pinged.

Healy should win the appeal. He was cleared of the charge, and found guilty of something he wasn't charged with. That's contrary to natural justice. Can't see the suspension being upheld.
