    Hi all does anyone know about transporting animals to the UK, Europe and possibly further a field..
    I need info on what regulations, insurance, pet / animal passports are required and who provides them.. Owner or transporter?
    Any other info also welcomed

    The onus is on you, the owner to make such arrangements, however if travelling within Europe your companion animal must be:

    1) microchipped,
    2) have a valid pet passport,
    3) have a rabies vaccination > 21 days before the intended date of travel,
    4) treatment for Echinococcus multiocularis 1-5 days before intended date of travel & return (if coming back to Ireland)
    5) and it is generally a good idea to treat preventatively for ticks (not obligatory, but continental Europe has tick-borne disease).
