- Former WWE creative team member Kevin Eck has posted a new blog entry, discussing the original creative plans for the Tensai character. Here is what he had to say…

“When Bloom returned to WWE a few years ago, the intention was to make him a main-event-level monster heel, and the creative team was assigned to come up with a character for him. Among the pitches for Bloom were for him to be a masked mauler, an ex-prisoner in an orange jumpsuit and an American samurai. I was of the belief that the best option was to give him a cool-looking mask with black ring attire that showed the tattoos on his upper body but covered his ample midsection. The more we hide his identity, I thought, the less chance the crowd will be chanting ‘Albert’ at him. I also thought he needed a mouthpiece, and my suggestion was to hire James Mitchell as his manager. The samurai character was my least favorite. Of course, that’s the one we went with. And instead of a manager, he was given a follower who never spoke English named Sakamoto.”

Still don't know what to make of Rousey's Wrestlemania appearence. Whether Dana White "worked" Vince for extra exposure for Rousey or if UFC/Rousey are keeping kayfabe until WWE does an angle for Summerslam or Wrestlemania with her Wrestling on one of those shows.

I'd be surprised if they dropped TNA in September. Until the end of the year TNA will help Destination America grow vs. the same quarter last year and without TNA that doesn't happen. So Discovery can release the same press release they did in a while back touting how well the network is doing. Where I think TNA will run into problems is that unless TNA grows their audience (and realistically there's like a 98% chance that isn't going to happen) starting next year they'll no longer be contributing to Destination America's growth. And I think that will be a problem for Discovery (unless the recent international deals under the Discovery banner are doing well).

I don't know Meltzer really laid it on thick the last few weeks in the Observer.

Ad rates are the driver not really ratings too.

- WWE announced during the WWE Payback pre-show that the Steve Austin Show will return to the WWE Network on June 1st. Austin’s guest for the show will be Paul Heyman; the show will air live immediately after Raw.

This is Austin’s return to the WWE Network after Chris Jericho did two live interviews, one with John Cena and another with Stephanie McMahon. The live podcast interviews are among the most-watched shows on the WWE Network.

Bryan Alvarez thinks that WWE and Austin working together had to do with WWE being afraid of Austin taking bookings with GFW for their Summer Baseball stadium shows.

Twenty years too late:

Front Row Brian mentioned on the Wrestling Observer forum that former WWE Diva Sunny (Tammy Sytch) may have signed a deal with Vivid to do hardcore porn movies. In the past, Brian has broken many MMA stories including the Jon Jones story from a few weeks ago. Brian has also in the past has had connections with people in the wrestling business.

Front Row Brian wrote, “talk is Sunny signed a deal with Vivid to do full-blown hardcore porn. ..Being serious”

Tammy confirmed a couple of years ago on a shoot interview that she was in negotiations with Vivid to do a 3-volume porn set. Also, to add more fuel the the rumor, she recently started following them on Twitter.
